The location is superb. One million of people on one street corner, another million across the street. Great food stalls every meter of the sidewalk. After all it's Chinatown with all it's traffic congestion and color. If you do not like crowds, stay away.
I stayed twice in 2 weeks.
Upon arrival I was taken to my room and started unpacking. I felt as if someone was watching me though. Indeed there was a NY sized cockroach (3cm) on the wall looking at me. I managed to kill it and put it into a plastic bag so I can show it to the reception. Sorry, they said and immediately gave me an upgraded room.
In chinatown there are roaches and other critters, so keeping them away must be difficult.
The rest of the stay was OK.
Another time I got a nice room on the top as requested, hopefully the roaches will not reach 12th floor. The room was nice but the AC was difficult. Thermostat was broken. Either permanent off or on, without temperature regulation. I complained and it was not fixed, Instead I was given keys to 4 different rooms to move, but all of them had bigger AC problems. Most were just very loud. I did not change my room and managed to cover the vent with plastic foil and towel. Could not open the window which was screwed shut.
Service was with a smile as everywhere in Thailand. Breakfast was plentiful and good.
Overall not so good, but cheap. I will probably not come back to this hotel
