We spent one night at the Metropolitan...
We spent one night at the Metropolitan hotel in July 2005 and enjoyed our stay there immensely. The hotel is almost brand new, so the rooms are very well equipped and spacious. Our room (a Metropolitan room) had a huge bathroom with separate shower and jacuzzi, a sitting area, and a king size bed. The tasteful ammenities included a Bose Wave clock radio, a TV with DVD player, and a nice clean desk to work at. The lighting in the room is very well done with subtle floor lighting (under the bedside tables) and cool reading lamps next to the bed. The service was excellent as well. On top of all that, we were given a certificate for a free 15 minute back and shoulder massage in the hotel spa upon checkin. I highly recommend this hotel!

Very impressive and very nice hotel with a very good service and very friendly hotel staff. The breakfast was abundant and a nice pool was available, too. The bar beside the Metropolitan hotel is also very nice and recommendable.

We had a wonderful stay in the...
We had a wonderful stay in the Metropolitan hotel. The full suite rooms are beautiful and all the bathroom amenities are superior products. The hotel gym and swimming pool were great. The included breakfast was plentiful and included mcuh fresh fruit and bread. We had indicated on the reservation that this was our honeymoon and had the nicest welcome of our entire trip. Everyone in the hotel wished us a happy honeymoon; we received fresh lilies in our room; our welcome platter included a small bottle of champagne, a box of Belgian chocolates in a silk box and fresh fruit daily. The only complaint is that room service was not up to the hotel standard (food was fine but not much better than that). Overall, this is a wonderful hotel with a haven of tranquility within the city of Bangkok. It is not in an area where one would want to walk around very much but is easy in access (10 min. walk) to the sky train.

The Metropolitan Bangkok is a fantasitic hotel and well worth the stay.  On arrival, after a long flight the staff new who I was and made check in an easy and pleasent experience.Rooms at the Metropolitan hotel Bangkok are great, large and quiet. Staff are friendly and helpful especially if travelling around Bangkok.  Some people where concerned with the location, however given how inexpensive it is to travel around the city, this really should not be a concern, plenty of taxi's and tuk tuk's for the brave. 10 out of 10 from me.

The Metropolitan hotel is wonderful, with beautiful rooms and great service. We stayed four nights in a Metropolitan-type room. The room was spacious and furnished in the best of taste. Amazing bathrooms - external window by the tub to watch the world go by while you soak and relax. Great toiletries from the spa. Fresh fruits every day (best mango in my life) and lots of free drinking water at the pool, the bar and at the room twice a day. The staff is very friendly, cool dressed and very cosmopolitan. Hip bar, great cocktails.

My wife and I have sojourned in...
My wife and I have sojourned in almost all of the luxury hotels Thailand has to offer and The Metropolitan Bangkok is the first in which there was not a single disagreement. The relaxed style of the staff could take some getting used to but the personnel are extremely efficient and well trained. The breakfast was copulas and the Cuisine offered in their ground level restaurant could easily compare with the finer establishments in Paris. The portions however are in line with the now outdated Nouvelle Cuisine so one should be aware that several dishes should be ordered if one has even a shadow of hunger. The Foie Gras   was suburb. Our room was large and beautifully decorated and always kept in perfect order by the cleaning staff.

The room was very large and tastefully...
The room was very large and tastefully decorated in a modern style with a great bathroom but the hotel suffers from being a relatively low rise building; there are no views. My girlfriend particularly liked the toiletries which were from the spa. The TV in the room seemed too small though;.we were in the Deluxe room and as the TV was so far away it would have been better if it was larger. Generally the staff were very friendly and helpful but the service in the restaraunt for breakfast was quite slow and the menu was quite restricted. Breakfast was included in the room rate but only certain items, other items had to be paid for. The Met bar was a cool place to go for a drink in the evening but it seemed like they would not have let us in if we were not hotel guests. As the hotel is quite new quite a few of the taxi drivers did not know it even though it's next to the Banyan Tree. Overall it is a very nice hotel, but for the price I think there is better in Bangkok.

I do not enjoy the style of...
I do not enjoy the style of breakfast you offer; only able to choose 1 from the menu.  In all hotels I stayed, they offer a variety to chose from and especially breakfast, I prefer to have a wider selection.  Do you prefer waking up to only having a choice to either have a shower or wear the slippers..?!?!? However, your rooms are commendable.  They are beautiful and tastefully done.  The toilets are big and very comfortable, especially the shower area.  The basin is a little too small. The hotel should have provided feeder services to the train stations.  The staff in the hotel are very friendly & fashionably attired but they lack the personal touch to acknowledge and remember the guest (I refer to myself) , particularly when you are not running on high occupancy.  Personally, I think you are over priced.

We enjoyed a lot the Metropolitan Hotel. A real trendy place in Bangkok. Very expensive for the city but with great service. Breakfast was probably the weak point of the property. Very small buffet and overcharge if you use roomservice.
