- very big room,

- we stayed in a room at the back side of the hotel: was very good,
- before (other time) we stayed in a room at the front of te hotel, didn´t like it because it was very noisy (busy street).
I really enjoyed my stay (yet again) at the Viengtai Hotel. The staff were friendly and efficient, the food was good value and the hotel was clean. The location is fantastic - all in all, I really enjoyed staying here. The only problem is the fact that the hot water is never really hot.

I have stayed at the Viengtai a number of times. The location of the hotel is very good for those wishing a good hotel in the Kosan road area. The public areas are good & the pool is welcome. The rooms even the delux rooms are getting a little 'tired". The staff are good. I think the hotel is a little overpriced compared to some of the opposition ion the area.
This is supposedly a 3 star hotel. The rooms have all the facilities that a 3 star hotel provides, but the rooms are cramped, smelly, dirty and very old. Construction of the hotel is very old, which gives a ghostly feel in the galleries, which seem deserted at most of the time. Bathroom tub was dirty and provoked uneasy feeling. Overall the hotel is not at all worth the kind of rents it charges. The area is good with good restaurants and shopping streets in the vicinity. The location is good, but the hotel is not.
Given a chance I would never even think of staying in theis place again.
We found the rooms at the Viengtai to be basic but comfortable, well airconditioned, spacious, very clean and bathrooms recently renovated with good water pressure. Food and service in the hotel were also excellent. The location of the hotel is a must for anyone wishing to explore the old city of Bangkok (Banglamphu) with many attractions within 5-10mins walking distance. The hotel rates are good value for money.
The service was extremely slow and the price for what you got was too high. Our room smelled bad, it was not very clean and we had to pay a 500 baht deposit for the key, which was annoying considering it was our last night in Thailand and we didn't want to change any more money. The only positive thing about this hotel is the location. I would not stay there again.

There are many travel package near.
And there many masage shop.. cheep.
And many traveler are walking in front of hotel.. ^^;
We wanted to extend our stay with one night. The cashier in the morning gave us a price, when we wanted to pay for it in the evening another cashier told us a much higher rate. Anyway booking in advance through the internet is much cheaper for this hotel.
Taxi drivers parked in front of the hotel, whom have signs saying "taxi-meter", don't want to use the meter en try to charge really high rates. For example for a short distance worth 50 B by meter, they charge 300 B. The hotel staff acts as if these prices are normal. It's better to walk out of the hotel area and take a real 'meter' taxi there.
