Gold Orchid was good value for money....
Gold Orchid was good value for money. The staff was friendly and try to be as helpful as they can. The only problem we found was that even with the hotel name written in Thai by the hotel staff, some taxi drivers do not know its location!! Suggest if you stay in the hotel - you get the name written in Thai before you venture out!! The hotel is not near BTS but taxifares to the BTS are cheap and taxis easily available. The breakfast was average and the premises do not look as nice as on the net - but the staff makes up for an enjoyable stay.

Nice hotel, convenient for airport - just a 15 min taxi ride costing around 150 baht. Good amenities, clean room. We only used it for transit so were only there overnight but would definitely use again.

A nice upscale hotel. We didn't have a chance to sample the breakfast. We staying in the hotel only one night between flights in and out of Bangkok. The hotel was not as close to the airport as we first suspected (15 minute cab ride with no traffic). However, the staff was friendly and helped us catch a cab to the airport in the morning. The rooms were extremely clean, with AC, TV, minibar, and marble bathroom.

Overall, me and my hubby enjoyed our stay in Gold Orchid (29-30Oct Sat & Sun) Not only does it has a gym and suana, it has a swimming pool of approx. 10m by 5m. Operating from 7am to 7pm. Breakfast is provided in both eastern and western style from 6am to 10.30am. The whole place looks and feels very new as it is only 2-3 years old and they have friendly staffs in both the lobby and in the restuarant.
The one and only thing that we dislike is the distance between the hotel to Jatujak Market. We need to take a cab whenever we want to visit Jatujak. It took us about 5min (without jam) and costed us about 45B per trip. Nonetheless, we tried walking back to the hotel from Jatujak Market and that took us almost an hour (slow walking pace while looking what we have along the way). There are pubs, markets, shops, food stalls, inn and etc. That made us feel like local consumers.

It is a very good hotel with all the facilities. Staffs are good in English. Clean and new hotel. Breakfast is good too. 5 mins drive to Mo Chit BTS. to MBK & Chatuchap weekend mktg only 10-12mins in taxi. Very good hotel value for money. I will come back to this hotel. Save and quite hotel.

Our stay at Gold Orchid was excellent! Hotel is quite new therefore rooms and toilets were nice and clean, although rooms small and can't put extra beds in. Staff very friendly and helpful and breakfast was average. It's quite far from downtown therefore makes the hotel a good choice for those who only stay one night in Bangkok for transit like us, e.g. Golf players or take next day early flights to somewhere else. 10-15 mins from airport which i reckon acceptable compare to the rather expensive or cheap but poor conditions hotels around the airport area.

We came flew into Bangkok in the evening and had a flight to Trang the next morning so we wanted to stay close to the airport. The Gold Orchid was great for this. Can't beat the price for a clean room, good service and food. We thought there would be hotel transfer service from the hotel but when we called the hotle they said our deal didn't come with it. Oh well.
Caution: at the airport when we entered the arrival area, there were a lot of agents trying to get us to hire a private transfer to the hotel. A lady in a suit with a clip board said our hotel was far and she would charge us 660 baht. I knew she was trying to fool us because I already knew the hotel was near the airport and plus by the way she flipped her map out and then quickly closed it so we took a cab which cost 160 baht. It's all metered.

The Gold Orchid hotel had good service...
The Gold Orchid hotel had good service and the room was clean and neat. The stay was fine. The only drawback is the location. It is near Chatuchak market but quite far from the city area like Siam sq. It is not near any bts station or subway. Need to take a taxi (about 40 baht) to the nearest station Mo Chit.
