I found Chin House to be a very nice choice... I stayed for five nights (Sunday night through Friday morning) and they upgraded me from my "studio" reservation to a one-bedroom suite. The suite was very comfortable - fully-stocked kitchen, separate living room, large and comfortable bed. A very close walk to Saladaeng Skytrain and evening locations. My Thai friend was also welcomed (unlike in some other hotels). The hotel has a nice pool area on a terrace on the 6th floor. There is some construction going on in the area (building new condos), but that did not cause any concern to my stay.
