A shabby backstreet guesthouse located so close to Khoa San Road that all through the night you can hear through your window the nightly entertainment of loud music and rowdy street-partiers shouting and chanting.
Having paid for a single room, I was kindly upgraded to a double which was a blessing because my double room was so tiny that I cannot imagine being able to get into a smaller room. There is no room to swing a cat in this hovel with the bed touching three walls, and nowhere to put your luggage.
There is a private bathroom but to take a shower you pretty much have to hold the shower hose over the toilet (imagin a scruffy caravan toilet). Then for the rest of your stay the shower room floor is soaking and, if you sensibly wear sandals to stop your feet getting wet, the water will spread across the small walking space in your bedroom.
There is a miniture TV, a phone, air con and some sort of stool, but these are pretty much all stacked up on top of each other.
It is dangerously easy to reserve a room there via the internet, but if you wait till you get there you can get a really decent room nearby for much less cost. If you stay on one of the streets nearby your money will go a lot further.
The breakfasts are truly terrible - if you order the 'American breakfast' you get the most greasy plate of 99%-fat bacon and a slapping of the usual attempt at destroying an egg.
What is surprising is that you see families at breakfast, who have clearly allowed their children to stay over despite it being more suitable for junkies.
