Pretty average but great location
If it's the Kao San Rd you want to stay, it can't get much better than this. Just off the Kao San Rd in a quiet alley. Rooms are clean, bathrooms tiny and look tired. Very average accommodation but what can you expect in such a touristy place for just under 20 bucks? It was fine for what it was; an easy stop straight from the bus from the Cambodian border. But we were happy it was only for one night!
Could do with a revamp
The single room I stayed in was quite small. The condition of the walls was very dirty and paint was peeling of in places. There was mould in the bathroom. Overall the room really needed a good clean and painting.The bathroom door had holes in it.
The food was reasonable. I found that some of the staff were not particularly helpful.
The hotel is in a good position and fairly quiet.
overpriced stay in 'gulley'
Both asiarooms and swasdee bangkok inn cheated with an offer of 833 baht/night for a small room inside a serpentine lane of Khaosan road. no vehicle reaches there. so one has to carry small child and luggoages all way. room should not be more than 500-550 baht/night. better stay at swasdee khaosan inn located right on road. bathroom is so small that beware any fat(or healthy) person - you may not fit into it. no channel other than HBO. total 9 channel. during checkout - they checked our room after we came out of the room , they kept the room locked from inside and may be checked with sniffer dog / metal detectors or any other go gamn thing(haha!!). we looked like thiefs to them. don't take their 150baht airpot drop in a cramped van(toyota commuter). take AE-2 from main road at same price, time,more comfort.
first time in bangkok, get somefin nicer
You get what u pay for, cheap accomodation! Price was ok included breakfast.. got a dodgy room (112) aircon was old, both travellers got ill and matresses were sunken badly in the middle. room had little crawlys on the sheets. We turned off the air con the 2nd night, less coughing but it was stinking hot and dangerous as there was a man wondering the balconies, when he looked in the room we confronted him and he said he was security, we did not see security men at all at the hotel, dodgy!. there were also cats screaming all night long. We asked to change to another room on the third night and was given attitude saying we just wanted a clean room, well we could just easily ask them to make up the room as they have that service!. the 2nd room was much better, same size but felt cleaner and the aircon was heavenly. first time in bangkok, pay a little more for something nicer, location was good tho
no customer service. very rude staffs.
Prison
Hotel in good location, but the hotel itself is like an open prison. Room so small door would not open fully. I had to walk sideways through the door.
