Lousy hotel, here are the reasons... taxi drivers don't know the place... no other transport except taxi... no extra room key... and only hotel guest can go up, meaning i can't bring my friends who are staying in another hotel up to take a look!!!

Ibis Siam is very good comparative with...
Ibis Siam is very good comparative with the value. I and my husband stay for 5 days here. Room: clean and tidy. Room sevice: we stay in a twin bed room therefore the staff set the twin bed together and make it like a "double bed". Out of our expection, they use a double bed sheet cover and make no "edge" between the bed. Very clever of the staff. Staff: They all very helpful. Whenever or whatever I ask, they can answer in fluent English and give me very useful information. Traffic: The nearby BTS skytrain within 10 mins walk, even you don't want to walk, it just costs little to downtown by taxi. Usually we cost around 60-80 Bhat travel to shopping centre, the Grand Palace and China Town. Just one thing, you need to take the toothbrush and toothpaste with you as the hotel didn't provied. If you are a budget-traveller and a swimming pool is not necessary, Ibis Siam is a good choice.

Even the location is not close to BTS, but any bus outside the hotel can reach the Siam city centre, very convenience for shopping oriented traveller. The room is clean and tidy, the air-con is good enough! Highly recommended to budget traveller.

Our stay at the Ibis Siam Hotel...
Our stay at the Ibis Siam Hotel was excellent. For the price of the accommodation, we expected less, but were extremely happy with what we got. The security was good. They had 1-2 guards posted in their driveway at all times and didn't let just anybody into their parking lot, especially taxi drivers. The reception staff was very friendly and helpful. Like a lot of past travellers have said, there was more staff on reception than bigger hotels. The room was large and had lots of space. The bed was comfortable and big. The bathroom, although small, was always clean and tidy. Housekeeping did an excellent job everyday, and provided two bottles of complimentary water. The airconditioning was excellent, and proved to be cold at times. In the restaurant, the waiters/waitress were always ready to be at your beck and call. One particular waiter always grabbed two cups of coffee for us every morning without question. The food choices, contrary to what other reviewers have said, was good, with a small variety of western and Thai food choices, fresh fruit and breads, which we thought was more than needed for breakfast. I mean, other hotels would have a larger range for a buffet breakfast, but lets face it, are you really going to eat all that food? :) The hotel has wireless internet connection that was readily available with the cost of purchasing a usage card. This may be a little expensive (200-450 Baht) as compared to internet cafes, but it was well worth it for the convenience. The location of the hotel was reasonable. It was within walking distance to a range of hawker stalls and massage parlours which we needed after a long days walk. Taxi fares to and from the hotel were never expensive, so long as you remember to always get the driver to switch on the meter. There was a range of television channels available with the hotel, but we were not able to get the Australian channel to watch the AFL games over the weekend. For all you aussies, a pub in Nana on Soi 4, called Bus Stop, shows AFL games as well as rugby. Overall, we were extremely happy with our stay at the Ibis Siam Hotel. The service, friendliness, and facilities for its price range was more than above average, in fact excellent and we would definately stay there again.

I would like to hightlight 3 matters: There are actually a group of us ( 7 of us to be exact) which book for 5-6nights... 1) The hot showers in all the rooms never worked. I have lodged a complaint with the Front Desk, but we have to endure the whole stay there without hot shower....what is really wrong with this International chain hotel???? 2) The one key per room policy is the MOST ABSURB POLICY I have ever seen. Do you know the hotel has put the twin share in the most difficult and incovenience situation. Even though the key is lodged at the front desk, that means the room are OPEN to security risk....mind you, most of the group staying there are couples or ladies....you are at the worse, putting everyone at riks....what is really wrong with this International chain hotel???? 3) Do you know the fighting times we have with the taxi to get to this hotel? They either do not know or DONT want to bring us to your IBIS hotel.....what is really wrong with this International chain hotel???? I will not EVER recommend anyone to stay in this hotel ever again.. clement

I've a wonderful experience with Ibis Siam, strongly recommend it to budget travellers. Its value for money although the location is not that perfect but the staff actually is very helpful in directions. I've use the public bus as a form of transport with the help of hotel staff and it help me save a lot on transport charges.
