As the only hotel at the new...
As the only hotel at the new airport, it is the natural choice for those who require convenience. The staff were friendly, and the rooms were absolutely beautiful, lovely large beds, and very tasteful.
I have now stayed twice, and I love the ambience and the location. However, serious faults with this hotel have left me doubting that I will return. The showers leaked everywhere, leaving my clothes soaked, and it took ages (and two reminder phone calls) for my luggage to be sent up, so I was left waiting in a towel for 40 minutes! (And late for a dinner meeting). The marble tiles were slippery and dangerous as well, and the hot water system fluctuated dangerously between scalding and freezing.
More frustratingly, on my second trip (not booked through AsiaRooms I might add) I was double charged for the booking. It has taken me more than one month and dozens of emails, hours of wasted time, and it is till not fixed, despite the hotel's assurances that it is the credit card company and not them. Surely if they can charge my card within a day, they should be able to correct it within a week? ;-)
Some of this can be attributed, I think, to teething problems but their customer service has left me cold. In future I'm going to spend the time and taxi fare and go into Bankok rather than stay at the Novotel. I've wasted more time than I've saved dealing with this hotel chain!
