Stayed 4 nights. Price and room as per booking. First night room faced a wall, but was told that next day I would be moved to a corner room overlooking the pool and canal. Room clean and tidy. Decent size. Air-con worked well.
Didn't eat in the restaurant/cafe. Coffee not hot, so returned for reheating. A glass from the freezer was provided with each drink apart from the coffee. If I were picky, I would say the table service is not attentive enough.
Good location. Close to Khaosan shopping and night stalls etc. Some good local bars, cafes and restaurants close by. Close to river terminal for transport to Grand Palace, longboats etc.
Room clean and tidy. Not 5 star, but value for money.
Some reviews very negative about the pool. I did not personally use the facility, but my room overlooked it, and it seemed to be clean, sparkling and adequately filtered. I didn't see any scum in it, in fact hardly anyone at all. Certainly much cleaner than the canal.
The only English language TV is BBC World News. Before I arrived, didn't think the lack of TV would be a problem, but found sometimes I just wanted to stay in and relax out of the heat. So, if you didn't want to read and you didn't want to sleep or use the pool, there is no TV to while away the hours.
There may be better value, but considering location and price, I think it is hard to beat.
I would stay again.
