Staying at Ecotel, Bangkok
Ecotel is a 10 star hotel at a three star price, excellent value for money. 10 mins walk to Pratunam Markets,some taxi drivers near the hotel will not put on the meter. As you leave the hotel, turn left at the first street on left, walk to the bottom (5mins) and the taxi drivers will, no problem. I get motorbike taxis most of the time, I ask the hotel staff how much I should pay and they are more than willing to help.
I cannot say enough about the hotel, great value for money, I payed $38 AUD per night, stayed 3 weeks, buffet breakfast tops. I think they made a mistake or I got it at half price. as I was only interested in shopping around Pratunam Markets I cannot tell you about trains.
Great value, hated to leave. Good luck.
