I adivice it to you
Maybe not the best bargain in Bangkok but the rate between proce end quality is good. I went there 3 times and each time the room was clean, staff friendly, the breakfast is huge and good and I particarly like the location : less than 10 minutes from the skytrain, less than 5 minutes from the boat-bus which is the easiest way to reach the old part of the city and there is good restaurant in the neighborhood.
The best subject is the swimmingpool !!
The worse subject is the hotel date from 70's and nothing has changed...

Swan
..a cozy inn-like place, very conveniently located for my business purposes. Breakfast normal, so no complaints... friendly staff. My single room had a small private balcony overlooking the swimming pool....cool. Had problems with a few mosquitoes in the bathroom and the bedroom...managed to kill two of them. Overall a good, clean quiet place...quite pleasant for a short stay.

bangkok review
Room was a bit gloomy but was overlooking pool. Did not really have that thai touch. Out side hotel what seemed like a resident taxi driver tried to get us to book our trip to Ko Samet through an agency he knew , i think it was a scam as we were going to be charged a very expensive rate for trip to ko samet and for accommodation. Not good for The Swan having people outside the hotel like that.

Friendly Swan hotel
We have stayed numerous times at the Swan Hotel over the past three years. It is on a quiet leafy street near the river, shops, and several five star hotels. The staff members are very friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome. There is a nice swimming pool. They also have a buffet breakfast that is more than adequate. It is not expensive. Some rooms are nicer and more renovated than others. Usually, when you check in you can ask to look at several rooms to choose one that you like. Although not perfect, if you are on a budget the Swan is really a good option.
