This hotel is a little old and...
This hotel is a little old and tired although I should imagine a few years ago that it was probably a four star. If you don't mind a bit of tattyness and a little flaky paint then this offers very good value for money. It is clean with all the amenities and security that you need, I would say it was a good three star with a cracking breakfast too.

This is a good choice hotel for low price. I am impressed with the room cleaniness and free use of internet facility at Lobby. The location is within walking distance to night market.

Staff was very helpfull and always at hand. Smooth service, excellent value for money for being in such great location. Older hotel but maintained well. During our stay there were quite a few mosquitos about, but this was all over chiang mai and nothing protection cream or a anti insect plug in cant deal with. If you are on a budget but still want decent service and good amenities this is your place to stay in chiang mai Free internet as well as free coffee corner in lobby was a nice touch.

absolutely fantastic!!! cant really ask for more..this is the 2nd time i went to chiang mai and i still go for STAR hotel..reason??its near to the famous nite bazaar, great for shopping, food and massage and the best part is it's great value for money!!!No regrets!highly recommended for budget conscious traveller who wants a clean, quiet and good location!!

We had a lovely stay in Star...
We had a lovely stay in Star Hotel. The staff were very friendly, and were very eager to help us book an elephant tour when we thought the one we had booked had fallen through. They looked after our bags for the day we had checked out. The room was lovely and had a lovely view of Chiang Mai's beautiful hills. The location was brilliant, about 20 minutes walk from the main city, and 10 minutes walk from all the bars. Would definately stay here again if I got chance to go back to Chiang Mai (which I would do in an instant if I could!).

Very friendly staff, free internet!! close to night markets and the usual Starbucks, McDonalds etc but in a quiet street. We will stay again when we return to Chiang Mai. Nice spacious room. There is a building site next door though so if you hoped to sleep during the day you would need to be on other side of the hotel. The pool available is at their sister hotel across the street.

Very good location in the night bazaar...
Very good location in the night bazaar but pls do not stay in the standard room cause the room and toilet is too old but Superior room is looks very nice and clean because is renovated and the price is just US$4d different from the standard room. Worth to upgrade your room to Superior room. I like this hotel and might stay again.

We came back again to the Star...
We came back again to the Star as the location is very good the room very clean and we like the tea and coffee facilities. We found the reception very nice and helpful the woman in the restuarant had a miserable attitude but you cant have it all.
