Stayed here in July place itself has the potential of been fabulous with the right management, refurbishment, and good housekeeping. Food and restaurant a big let down, rooms lovely needing redecorating. Booked at one price charged at a higher afterwards. if you do not like large concrete impersonal hotels and do not have the budget for the Four Seasons or Mandarin then this is an option forgetting about the food.

We were satisfied with Tamarind Village hotel. The tv channel - STAR SPORTS - although in their list, was not available - that was a small disappointment due to the Wimbledon Tennis Championship in progress at that time.

We were in Tamarind Village in june 2005, we stayed very well, it is a nice hotel in the city centre, clean, and staff is very friendly.
Comfortable and large room(superior room), breakfast was nice, so if we will go again to Chang mai, we will return there.

Have stayed in many more expensive hotels but this one was superb, just the right amount of attention from staff, great central location and beautiful gardens. The Tamarind Village hotel really is set out like a small village and our room felt spacious and private, decorated in a calm and modern style with touches like polished concrete floors. The food was consistantly good at this hotel and the breakfast selection large and varied. In the heart of this bustling city with the Sunday market on your doorstep, full of fantastic bargains. A little oasis we will definatly recommend and return to many times. Take advantage of the excellent laundry service this means you can return with all your laundry done and smelling of lavender! Great value all round, enjoy.

I loved the Tamarind Village hotel! It is right in the middle of the town, but you can barely tell - the hotel and pool area were peaceful and serene. It is in a good location - walking distance to the night markets and several small wats. The rooms were spacious, with a balcony, good shower, and nice ammenities. If I recall there was no Internet access in the hotel, but there was an Internet cafe about one block away. For a nice boutique hotel, the price is also fantastic. A must-stay in Chiang Mai. (I was there late April 2005)

Tamarind Village stay was exceptional. Atmoshpere was very serene and staff was very helpful. B'fast was excellent with so many varieties of fruit and fruit juices. Rooms needs better lighting. We are glad we selected Tamarind Village for our stay in Chiang Mai. It's a different experience all together.

Excellent discount rates for this very comfortable and charming boutique hotel; service was stellar, beautiful pool and grounds, and the breakfast buffet was probably the best we had on our trip. A very pleasant stay in the Tamarind Village Chiang Mai!

We really enjoyed our recent stay at Tamarind Village. The staff were all wonderful, and the location is superb. We were there during Songkran 2005, and one was in the thick of the festivities just outside its driveway. May I say that the staff are all good with their buckets, as well? I highly recommend Tamarind Village as an alternative to sterile Western-style hotels. THe room was spotless, the bathroom was large, the amentities were delightful, the grounds were beautiful, and since I'm not a breakfast person, the fruits, juices and tea suited me just fine. They had a full Western buffet as well, but I didn't try it. Enjoy your stay at Tamarind Village. We did!
