We were satisfied with Tamarind Village hotel. The tv channel - STAR SPORTS - although in their list, was not available - that was a small disappointment due to the Wimbledon Tennis Championship in progress at that time.
We were in Tamarind Village in june 2005, we stayed very well, it is a nice hotel in the city centre, clean, and staff is very friendly.
Comfortable and large room(superior room), breakfast was nice, so if we will go again to Chang mai, we will return there.
Have stayed in many more expensive hotels but this one was superb, just the right amount of attention from staff, great central location and beautiful gardens. The Tamarind Village hotel really is set out like a small village and our room felt spacious and private, decorated in a calm and modern style with touches like polished concrete floors. The food was consistantly good at this hotel and the breakfast selection large and varied. In the heart of this bustling city with the Sunday market on your doorstep, full of fantastic bargains. A little oasis we will definatly recommend and return to many times. Take advantage of the excellent laundry service this means you can return with all your laundry done and smelling of lavender! Great value all round, enjoy.
Very nice boutique low-rise hotel in older, sublime style. Friendly, efficient front office staff. Rooms terrific. Quiet atmosphere. Nice pool, lovely eating area. Bit of a walk to shops and nightlife. Highly recommended.

Hello, we chose Tamarind Hotel through internet...
Hello, we chose Tamarind Hotel through internet and we did not know what we were going to find, but we had a great surprise as it was even more beautiful than we thought, nice pool, very romantic rooms, incredible gardens and really charming staff, and in the old center of the city...
The four of us traveling together all loved the Tamarind Gardens hotel. We agreed that the room, service, and ambience were superior. We enjoyed the upstairs deluxe rooms and the breakfast buffet very much. The location is convenient; in fact perfect for the Sunday market, which is just outside the hotel's door. Hot tip: Try the "Triple N" Restaurant down the street--it's excellent and has live music in the evenings by truly talented musicians and singers. Another hot tip: Choose your elephant trekking excursion company carefully.
I have stayed at the Tamarind Village for five times. It is a simple hotel, which make me feel that I was in a heaven. The room was basic but nice and stylish. Staffs were very friendly. It is like the Oasis of Chiang Mai. The Breakfast buffet was really great and reasonable. I could walk about 10 minutes to The Shopping area or 5 min stroll to the tourist spot. I love every minute in this hotel. Hint: Ms. Orapin, Tamarind s’ reservationist , is very friendly and helpful but book with voyagenow will be cheaper.
The Tamarind Village is located at the old heart of Chiang Mai . It is very close to the Ta-Pae gate, Wat Umong and Wat Pan On. The hotel is only 15 minutes from the Airport. I stayed here for three nights, I was so pleasant with the hotel staff and local people. The hotel was so close to The Night bazaar only 10 min walking. Night Bazaar was the most famous shopping center of Chiang Mai. My Standard room was very new and so superb classy. The small swimming pool was a great place of the hotel to relax. The hotel was so charm and unique, I will repeat there again.
