My friends and I spent a great week at Tamarind Village.
Staff were friendly and helpful at all times. The afternoon/evening wait-staff in the restaurant made a few errors but nothing to grumble about. Meals were very good and reasonably priced; however, wine prices seemed quite steep. Its location provided easy access to the night markets and other places of interest. Hotel excursions were reasonably priced and made the adventure easier. The Sunday market was right outside the door, which was very convenient, but couldn't be heard at all when we wanted to retire early. We were a little nervous about the number of mosquitoes on arrival but the hotel were quick to spray our rooms when requested. We had massages in the hotel spa and the staff made us feel very at ease with the experience. It was a welcome relief after riding the elephants! We booked the Lanna Deluxe which was on the second floor and were quite happy with the room size and amenities. For those of you that appreciate a strong hot shower, you may be disappointed (you don't really need one), but it was much better than experiences in London and Paris.
All in all, a very nice place to stay in a city that surprised us by its cleanliness. We also appreciated the wireless internet access.
