Tamarind Village is an absolute "must stay" when you are in Chang Mai. The welcome was more than friendly, we immediately felt confortable. The people are extremely service minded. The restaurant is excellent; atmospherewise with live music during dinner but also the food is delicious as well as price/quality. Breakfast very good and extended. Tip: Go to the temple behind the hotel with the hotel "guide". Swimmingpool big enough. Nice shop in the hotel with real distinguishing souvenirs. Very serene atmosphere. Definately go back there.
We were met at the train station by friendly and efficient staff who made us feel very welcome. The hotel was beautiful and situated perfectly for seeing the sights of Chiang Mai. All the staff were helpful and friendly and the spa treatments were excellent. The hotel is on the walking market road which was fabulous and full of great bargains. It is only on Sundays but well worth timing your visit with! Over the road is a small complex of shops and restaurants which served delicious food (we ate in all of them) and one of the cheapest places to buy embroidered local bags skirts etc. Amazing wats and lovely people abound in Chiang Mai and the Tamarind Village was a joy to stay in.
Great staff! Rooms were nice, but way too small. Breakfast buffet was great and the staff had a very subtle surprise for me when i turned 30 while staying there. I did not want a big spectacle and it was not. Just a very frendly surprise that made it extra special.
Our time at the Tamarind Village hotel was perfect. The hotel has a terrific location. A short walk from the hotel will put you in a perect location for shopping, finding good food, or a relaxing coffee break at the nearby Starbucks. The staff went out of their way to be friendly. The room was clean and the bed was vey comfortable. Cable TV had many channels to choose from. The breakfast had many choices and the coffee was fresh and hot. The Sunday Market uses one of the streets in front of the hotel and you can enjoy an evening of browsing the market without going far from your room. I look forward to my next time in Chiang Mai and will use this hotel as my first choice.
A Delightful boutique hotel well located, having excellant service, a very good breakfast buffet ,great resteraunt ( well priced ) good room & bathroom sizes .
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, most definately will stay again..... Gopal Kapoor Mumbai India
My thoughts of this resort were tarnished by the poor quality of food in the restaurant and the rapacious nature of the front desk trying to get me to pay for a days accomodation that I had previously cancelled. I wont be going back and there are better places to stay in CM. Its unfortunate as they have the makings for a great place.

Beautiful boutique hotel with attentive, friendly and professional staff. Lovely gardens, swimming pool and tastefully decorated rooms. Convenient location. Excellent breakfast. Would highly recommend this accommodation.
The hotel is a gem. The grounds are immaculately kept, the pool and bar are divine. Rooms are elegant, quiet and functional. Staff is highly focused on customer service and satisfaction. We felt pampered and spoiled staying here, and would recommend the hotel to business and leisure travelers alike.
We stayed at tamarind Village twice in June 2008. The staff are welcoming, the delux lanna room was clean and quiet with a private balcony. The breakfast was top quality, and the attentive staff make sure that the buffet is replenished. A great spot in the old city. Perfect for the sunday market and walking street right outside the gate.
