We found this hotel to be a...
We found this hotel to be a great place to stay. We had originally only booked 2 nights as we expected to do some travel around the area. But we ended up booking another 5 nights as it had all we wanted for our holiday. The staff were excellent, and always on hand to help with our questions (and we had quite a few). The restaurant was good, food was served promptly and was tasty. My only complaint about our stay would be that our bathroom supplies (soap, shampoo, etc) were only restocked once during a 7 night stay. One bar of soap for both shower and basin was not sufficent, especially for a hotel of this quality. But this would not stop me from satying here again on a return trip. Highly recommend this hotel for couples wanting a romantic trip away. The restaurant at dusk with some live jazz was a greta environment for a relaxing holiday. Just what we wanted

My boyfriend and I loved our stay...
My boyfriend and I loved our stay at Tamarind Village, it is right in the centre of everything very easy to walk to most sites in Chiang Mai. The staff were extremely polite and courteous and were welcoming to friends of ours staying in Chiang Mai but not staying at the hotel. The hotel was immaculate and the tolietries left in the bathrooms were to die for. I would definately recommend that anyone stay here, it represents good value for money although some of the spa treatments and meals in the returaunt were a little pricey in comparison to others in the area. I would also recommend booking any trekking trips through the hotel as well as they did not add on any additional service charge and arranged the full trip on our behalf.

The place is perfect for those who really want to relax and enjoy a quiet vacation. It's strategically located especially when the night market is conveniently just at your doorstep on a Sunday. I love the room design... modern but at the same time homely. The service is good as well. I will definitely stay again at the Tamarind Village at my next visit.

Truly enchanted by Tamarind Village. The walk...
Truly enchanted by Tamarind Village. The walk through the bamboo trees leading to the entrance absolutely romantic. Stayed in Lanna Room. Room size a tad small, but the simple but nice neo-Lanna style decoration more than make up for its deficiency in size. No bathtub in bathroom :o(, but still very pretty with metal/bronze washing basins and wooden fixtures. Location wise excellent - right smack in the centre of Old City, with easy access to tourist sites and temples. Street in front of hotel turns into Walking Street during Sundays (Note: Quite a walk to the famous Night Bazaar). Asiarooms.com service great! Very reliable and gave reminders on forthcoming stay. Even provided "warning" on access to hotel (and also solution) due to Songkran festivities.

The Tamarind is an Oasis. We...
The Tamarind is an Oasis. We stayed here for 5 days with 18 of our wedding guests! The staff was wonderful, attentive, and most of all, patient with all our organizing! They arranged tailors and seamstresses, taxis, and even a doctor (twice) for a family member who got hit terribly hard by "Thai-Tummy" (be carful of street vendor food!). It was hot hot hot in the city, but the hotel was a cool, breezy oasis after a long day treking. The breakfast was one of the best I've had--food was high quality, fresh, and wonderfully presented. Free 5 minute foot, hand or neck massages by the pool, spa quality soaps etc. in the rooms, and a very affordable restaurant made for a wonderful stay. The food was safe, of Thai and "western" orign, and the ambiance was great--candles by the pool-side with a jazz duo in the evenings! The day after the wedding the CEO of the hotel group gave us his congrats personally. Overall, one of the best hotels I've stayed in. It's not opulant, but is simple, tasteful, and full of northern Thai charm. I can't compare it to other luxury hotels, becuase it's nothing like them. Everything is perfect without being over-guilded. Staying at this hotel made my second trip to Chiang Mai my favourite, and the help of its staff made all of the hectic planning associated with a wedding that much easier. Make sure that you book with Asiarooms, however, as the hotel's rack rates are very very high by comparison! We couldn't believe the deal we got--well less than half off, plus the hotel upgraded us for free because it was our wedding. This was a wonderful hotel for a wonderful vacation. The only drawback was the misquitos--that said, they were a scourge no matter where we stayed in Thailand--Samui, north, Bangkok....a little bit of bug spray does the trick, the staff will also spray your room, and the restaurant and poolside use unobtrusive coils in the evening. Nothing to get worked up about, and didn't detract from our stay at all!
