Our Stay at Eurana, Chiang Mai
Eurana was hard to access with a car. We'd driven a long hard day from another country so it was late. The location wasn't easy to find...we found the hotel by 'accident' down a laneway. Parking is available but you have to drive down narrow lanes to get there--squeezing between cars parked on the side of the lanes. We specifically asked for the room in the 'new wing' (following a recommendation from a review). We were allocated a room in the new area but the tap/pipes had made a mess in the bedroom. Hand wash basin located in bedroom and this was leaking under the sink. I think this wasn't a "new leak" -- there was brown copper coloured water on the floor. The attendants wanted to "mop up" the water but as you walked on the tiles the dirty water sqeezed up from underneath making a mess! We asked for a similar comparable room. Were told the hotel is full and would have to stay in that room. ( I don't think the hotel was full--there was very little activity during our stay there--very quiet at all times). We asked for a free upgrade because of the inconvenience but again received a negative response. In the end, we were allocated an 'old room'--which was better set up. Washbasin in bathroom. No leaks. Good shower with warm water. We didn't eat at the hotel--choosing to eat at the many surrounding cafes. Good coffee just down the road from the main entrance. For the quality of the stay, the "discount price" is steep. Would not stay at Eurana again. But would stay in the area in another location. Coffee shops, cafes, etc. are plenty and the 'village' is attractive for Thailand. Definately not a romantic retreat.

stuck in the middle
Eurana is sort of awkwardly in between being a good high end hotel like novotel, and being a warm, friendly guesthouse. This means that as a customer, i got neither the excellent service you get at 4-5 star places, nor the sense of family you get at a guesthouse.
It was okay, but i've had better for less.

Hotel Staff not listining to customers
>
Dear Sirs
Our stay was great rooms were good however I was told when booking on your website that I will pay on departue. When leaving I went to pay and I was told they had charged my credit card on arrival.
When I arrived they took imprint and I mentioned I was going to pay cash on departure however the front desk did not listen. As I live in thailand and not being thai national I can not transfer money out of this country to settle my master card bill. So now I have to ask my family in UK to pay my credit card bill.
This is not convienant and not professional of the hotel if they are part of your groups of hotel they should adhere to your rules. I feel disappointed after agreat stay in chiang mai. With regret 0/10 for me at this hotel.

A relaxing little oasis
This hotel has very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are nicely appointed and comfortable. The gardens and grounds are quite peaceful. The pool is very clean and inviting, although they could use some new lounge beds and more umbrellas. I did not eat at the restaurant for two reasons, there are many options for dining everywhere and, based on the quality of breakfast, I was not interested in having any other meals there. Overall I think the quality to price ratio was very reasonable . I did enjoy my stay enough to extend three more nights. I would stay here again.

We were in the "basic" room (if I remember well defined as "superior") and found everything ok, from cleanliness to A/C to TV set to in-room safe to complimentary drinking water. The only trouble with this kind of room is size: the room is small and the sink is in the room rather than in the bathroom. Probably "deluxe" rooms are a bit larger. Fair breakfast, not extensive but with sweet and sour. At 25

A lovely friendly hotel in a great location. Walk out either the front or back and you are immediately in interesting streets with local shops, eateries, hairdressers. We sat in a bar and watched the world go by, had a cheap and gorgeous Thai meal and my wife visited the local hair and beauty parlour. All the taxi drivers know Hotel Eurana, we thought it was a very good hotel, excellent value, nice foyer and staff and great location.

The reception was not very helpful, and breakfast staff almost tackled you at the door for your breakfast vouchers. Whereas northern thai are known for their grace and friendliness, i found this hotel like a little island of big city attitude... In the very same street are friendly small hotels offering clean and comfortable a/c rooms for just 500 baht.

Nice and clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff, nice restaurant and good food. Nothing outstanding but one of the best 3 star hotels I have stayed in Thailand. On the downside: All but one TV channels are Thai, if you care. It is located on one of the main roads. It

An older establishment but well maintained. The service was good, especially the command of English. Breakfast was adequate but limited. The location is great with regard to services for travellers - a wide variety of dining choices, internet etc. It is the section of town which caters to foreigners. For an "authentic Thai experience", I wouldn't choose it. Speaking as someone who has lived in Thailand for several years, it's a bit pricey for everyday business but for this special occasion it was very nice.
