a secluded retreat
Ban Sabai is a spa resort tucked on the outskirts of Chiang Mai. The accommodation is wonderful, all wooden with an outdoor shower. The food at breakfast was good although I think there could be more choices available. The spa uses whole foods only so you feel healthy after a meal! The swimming pool is freezing but the surrounding pool area is very relaxing. The gym is well equipped and air conditioned. The grounds are lovely with all the flowers and plants. I have to say it gets quite noisy in the morning with the birds outside and there also seems to be a tree felling plant not far away which starts at ridiculous o'clock
There is no bar, but the staff will get you a beer from the restaurant in the evenings The taxi ride into the city costs 200baht each way
Overall it is a lovely place to stay and relax and get away from the stresses of everyday life, it does various spa treatments but they are expensive compared to those offered in the city I would reccommend it and return again.
