This lovely spacious resort is on a mountain hill surrounded by a beautiful big garden full of flowers. It is a great place for relaxing and for families since it is very spacious, has a pool and a nice river stream down in the valley. The standard rooms though are very very basic and far too expensive. We had to upgrate for double the price to get at least a chair in the room. The open air restaurant has a great view but the food is not special at all and also too expensive for what you get. We didn't like the non-flexible and strict attitude of the lady in charge.

Mae-Sa Valley is a beautiful picturesque place 40km outside Chiang Mai. The people a very friendly and helpful, and the grounds are green, tranquil and relaxing. However if you do not have a car there is nothing in the surrounding area to do. Also there are no shops so you have to eat in Mae-Sa Valley which has a limited amount of snacks.

The place is beautiful. Peacefull and quiete, lovely landscaping, etc. It's excellent value for money, if you wish to have a different holiday experience from the hotels in the city.
The stuff was very friendly and helpfull. we ate all 3 meals at the restaurant and loved the food.
We also participated in parasol painting and loved it. The Thai maggage was also very good.
My only comments are - there is no proper transportation from the place to nearby activities and at first we were asked to pay too much by the village staff. since we loved to stay in the village it was not a big problem but if someone plans to stay there as a base for trips - he needs to arrange transportation in advance.
Also - breakfast, which was included in the room's price, was rather poor compared to other hotels we stayed in.
Except for these minor issues - we loved the place and really hope to visit it again.

Scenic surrounding with nice weather at night but this is the only plus point about the hotel. There is no shuttle service to any places, not even to sight-seeing venue like Maesa Elephant Camp which only takes less than 5 mins drive. Not easy to get taxi and is very costly - the price that is far too expensive for town like Chiangmai! Furthermore there is no TV in the room which make the stay even more boring. Lastly eating is a problem as we can only have meals inside the resort restaurant, not food outlet around it!! Only suitable for those that really don't mind about the points hightlighted above and mainly stay there to relax and do reading!!

The room is OK. However,it is not as same standard as other hotels and I was not notified by that fact. For example, it is no airconditioning room but it is ok because it was cool at that time. There are no TV set ,a refrigirator and clothespress. However, the hospitality is great.
