Our stay at the Rachamankha ranks among...
Our stay at the Rachamankha ranks among one the best hotel experiences I've had to date. We arrived in Chiang Mai at 7:30 am via an overnight train (we wanted the train experience which I would recommend if you are so inclined) from Bangkok and were at the hotel shortly thereafter. Of course we were there well before normal check-in. Our reserved room was not yet ready, but they immediately put us in another room (superior room) to rest and freshen up until ours was ready. The superior room was perfectly fine, but the deluxe room was well worth the additional cost. When we returned later in the afternoon from the Oasis Spa that is a couple of blocks way, the staff had already moved our baggage and set us up in our deluxe room. Breakfast was included as was one dinner. This was a surprise as the Asiaroom booking stated that no meals were included. I believe the Hotel did this simply because we were in a deluxe room. The Chilean Sea Bass could not have been cooked any better. The food was excellent and the staff even better. The designers built it from the ground up and I feel they accomplished exactly what they were after. A beautiful, serene, elegant setting in a meditative temple-like atmosphere. There is no way you could possibly be unhappy with this experience. If you plan shopping for locally produced crafts, furniture and the like, I strongly recommend you hire a driver and car for the day. The front desk can arrange it for you and we had a wonderful driver named Noi (female), who did far more than just drive, as she was also our interpreter and assisted us in coordinating for all our purchase to be custom made and later shipped back to California. As for Asiarooms.com, I highly recommend their service and have full confidence in their bookings. I have to admit that I felt I was taking a chance as I had never heard of Asiarooms before and was unsure of its legitimacy. I plan on using them exclusively for all vacations to Asia. Their price for the Rachamankha was far less than Expedia and all other well-known sites. If you want peace in a simple, elegant beautiful environment, this is the place. -Pasadena, CA P.S. They offer unlimited Internet access (DSL) for free! This was a first for me.

I would and have recommended highly the Rachemankha Hotel to all my friends and family.  It was a wonderful experience, and our vacation in Chiang Mai would not have been as luxurious if we had stayed elsewhere.  The hotel is beautiful and well appointed.  The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant we found to be one of the best in the city. The hotel is well situated, quiet, and stunningly beautiful. Only a few small recommendations to improve the experience - if possible the water pressure should be improved in the guestrooms, also a second mirror in the guestroom would be helpful for those traveling in pairs. Other than that - it was a fantastic value on top of a beautiful experience !

This is simply the loveliest hotel we have come across. The setting is beautiful, the rooms gorgeous, the pool very nice, the service extremely graceous and the hotel beautifully cared for. If I were to be picky I would say it's a shame you can't order a drink much after ten, but, overall, I would recommend this hotel very highly.

My husband and I stayed for 5 nights at Rachamankha -- as part of our honeymoon trip to Asia.  What a WONDERFUL hotel!  The staff is extremely well trained and attentive.  The rooms are beautifully decorated and impeccably clean.  The hotel has approx 30-some rooms, and the temple design is so unique!  It was a pleasant surprise to learn that it was listed in Conde Nast's best new hotels in 2005.  We would strongly recommend staying at Rachamankha rather than a large hotel -- the service is truly wonderful and personalized.  Enjoy!!

The design of the building is beautiful, only surpassed by the décor in the rooms. The staff is wonderful, and the restaurant is one of the best in Chaing Mai. We are world travelers and this is among one of our favorite hotels. The location is great for walking tours within the ancient city. This is a must stay for at least 4 nights, there is much to do and see in this city.

Now that we have stayed at Rachamankha,...
Now that we have stayed at Rachamankha, we could never stay anyplace else in Chiang Mai.  The buildings and grounds are elegant in a very understated way.  Everything is white, which allows the wood art and the Chinese antiquities to be showcased beautifully.  The reception and service are delightful and sweet, and the food is delicious and varied.  It is an absolute treasure, true value for the money.
