We stayed at the Botanic Resort for 3 nights and really enjoyed it..though it is located a lil far from the city or town area.. for those of you who wanna relax it is the best atmosphere. We can actually feel the oxygen in the air..The food was excellent. The only thing that disappointed me was the bicycling bit..there were no bicycles to ride. It is very close to Elephant camp, bungee jumpin and all.Overall we had a lovely time.

We went with great expectation but were disappointed with the condition of the room. The room had a musty, moldy smell and it was ingeneralnot vey clean. The location of the Hotel was great but everything else was pretty run down.Walls need a good paint job. Drapery and bed spread could use a good wash or dry cleaning. The restaurant service however was excellent..Nice, fresh delicious food. We tried to brave the situation but at the end of the day decided we might as well drive home since we lived relatively close to Chiang Mai.We were looking forward to just some quiet time by the pool but evn that was not possible since they took all day to clean it by 5 pm the sun went down and it was not the same. The final straw was an on the lawn Karoke singing party really close to the room so at 9:30pm we decided we should just go home.

It is peaceful and quiet. We were surprise that we were the only guest. Quite scary, some corridor's light was not ON. We have to walk thru dark corridors to get into our hotel room. There is no Safe in the room, the room is very romantic but can be quite scary if one watch too much ghost movies. The pool is very dirty like a pond with many dead insects, water skaters and baby frogs floating on the water. No towel at the pool until we called them. I doubt they clean the pool. The pool is not suitable for very young children as they may drink dirty water. The environment is great but definitely not for those who want to go to the city. It is too far. However it is near to elephant camp, and botanic garden. The breakfast is Basic, and western. Great for honeyMooner, not so good for family. One night is enough. Regards NJ and family of Singapore.

We stayed for 4 nights. The service...
We stayed for 4 nights. The service was wonderful. It was located in the mountains near the Elephant Camp. They had a beautiful view from the dining hall and the food was delicious. They had many trails to hike up, and the pool was big. The rooms had a romantic feel to them. Only complaints are that they had no DVD players available, internet cost 60 baht per 20 minutes and wasn't located in the room, and there wasn't a bathtub. Otherwise they were very accomodating to me, as I was on crutches due to a knee injury. You'll need to arrange for a songtao to pick you up if you need to go into town as it is pretty far away. (Or just rent a motorcycle.) It cost 500 Baht each way. If you are looking for a romantic get-away, I'd go here!

A little far from town but well compensated with nice scenery and the resort's standard.

Resort is set in the mountains and...
Resort is set in the mountains and is about 25kms from downtown. Distance won't be much of an issue if hotel had a regular (perhaps once daily) bus service. However they don't and as such, we felt "trapped" especially on our first day. We enquired at reception if we could grab a cab but were told we had to book a day in advance. Ala carte meals at the restaurant were pretty good but the buffet breakfast wasn't. Overall, the resort is a perfect getaway from city life. However, first time visitors who want to explore downtown would find it a pain (both physically and financially!).

We have just visited Botanic Resort in...
We have just visited Botanic Resort in October 2005 and we both are satisfied with everything here. This hotel on the hill and there is no fear from flooding! It is very suitable for someone who prefers to feel the nature. Just imagine to wake up and to see the clouds on the top of the mountain…It is very relaxing. There is big swimming pool for us to enjoy. The room we stayed was good enough with sufficient amenities. We love the restaurant offering tasty dishes even we arrived there so late at night. The best thing is all hotel staffs are always very attentive and ready to accommodate you. We forgot battery for our camera and baby powder, the staff even offered their belonging to us! That extremely impressed us. We recommend the Botanic Resort to honeymooners but not a shopper! We will come back again! One tip: Please make sure that you have all necessary personal stuff ready as on the hill is not easy to get what you want!
