We had a wonderful time at this hotel. The rooms are great and the service was excellent. You're right in the middle of downtown so everything is very close. You are within walking distance to both night and Sunday markets. There is always transportation avaible rigth out in front of the hotel, and they have a local tour guide section in the lobby of the hotel. The free breakfast is incredible with many selections and even made to order egg omelettes. As far as we are concerned, this is the best buy in Chiang Mia!! We dd find it cheaper to book your own transportation and have them take you to the mountions (20 MIles), where all of the major tour attractions are on one road within a few miles of each other.

I picked the Raming Lodge Hotel after...
I picked the Raming Lodge Hotel after reading reviews on TripAdvisor. The hotel is well located just outside the old city, the night bizarre is just a few minutes walk down the road and there are lots of small shops and bars along the road. We spent four nights at the hotel after spending three nights in Bangkok. The hotel is quite new and has standard rooms, deluxe rooms, suites, etc; we stayed in a deluxe room which was very clean and well equipped. We had fruit provided every day and where not charged for the water from the mini bar. The breakfast was a buffet style with a huge choice, one day we had lunch in the restaurant which is very nicely decorated, and the food was very good. The hotel staff are very friendly, helpful and extremely smart, there is also a small stand in reception where you can book trips, there are also plenty of private offices and touts who you can book trips through, just compare prices. The Thai people in general are very friendly and helpful and we felt much safer in Thailand than in England. All in all a great hotel, country and people. Thank you Mr & Mrs Smith Scarborough England.

We booked Raming Lodge after reading all...
We booked Raming Lodge after reading all the positive reviews on asiarooms.com and on other websites. I must say the reviews are right on! Before Chiang Mai we stayed at Sofitel Bangkok (5-stars) so it was a hard act to follow. But I must say even though Raming Lodge is no 5 star hotel but it certainly did not disappoint. Of course Raming Lodge cost less than 1/3 of Sofitel Bangkok! All the positive reviews on this website are fairly accurate. I just couldn't believe the value: for $45USD (deluxe room) you get a clean 3-4 star near new large hotel room with en suite, free wireless internet, free mini-bar, free breakfast, free airport transfer! The free breakfast is so good you have to see it to believe it. However I am not sure what extras we got with the deluxe room as compared with a $34 superior room (other than the free minibar). It's very hard to fault this place as we had a fantastic stay. It's close to Night Bazaar (5 minutes walk). It's in a good location as there are like 50 eateries within 5 minute walking distance of the hotel. We also booked a day trip at the hotel travel desk. Later we found out that it's cheaper to book elsewhere however the day trip was very good so we were happy. We didn't eat at the hotel restaurant or use the hotel spa as there were a lot of do in Chiang Mai. The only negatives we found were that: -There was NO ironing board or iron at the hotel! We couldn't believe it. -It's definitely located in the "pink light" district but none of the girls ever bothered me -There are mosquitoes in the room at night, not sure how they got in Overall it's an excellent place and I would stay there again. I don't think anyone can stay there and not enjoy it.

We stayed 3/08 and was delightfully surprised by this hotel. "Dao" at the front desk is English speaking. She gave us great ideas on day trips by hiring a taxi for the day. You'll be glad you travel out. They leave a fruit bowl and two bottles of water each day. Good air conditioning, shower, TV, Net service, hard bed like all of Asia, clean spacious rooms. Good laundry service that is prompt. The restaurant has a BBQ special each night with salad that is a BARGAIN plus a live singer. They are two blocks from the Sunday market. Photo the art on each stair landing. We will return!

I choose a deluxe room but the view isn't much to shout about. Location wise, its not really that near as it takes about 10mins to walk to the entrance of the night market. However, the hotel do have a nice cosy feeling but room wise, I believe one can get better value elsewhere. Overall, with that price, I think I can find better hotels elsewhere.

We loved this hotel despite the fact the hotel didnt have a double room available when we checked in.The room and bathroom were above expectations. The breakfast was excellent and all the staff were very friendly and smilie !! The hotel is within walking distant to the night market and some lovely restaurants. Excellent choice for budget travellers, couples and families. Would definitely stay again if we return to chang mai.

This boutique hotel is charming and the first impression when we entered the lobby was the warmth of the staff who greeted us and the overall coziness of the entrance and lobby. The rooms and facilities were excellent; however par excellence is given the the hotel staff, friendly, pleasant and warm. They made a point to strike conversation across all ages, providing the warm hospitality of Thai people. Kudos! We will certainly be back to the hotel this 2008. Thanks for making our holidays so memorable. Warmest Thor family
