This hotel was good for the price you pay..romms were big. The breakfast wasnt all that..but for this price, feel u cant really complain..def above 3*..maybe not quite 4* though...location is good..very close to the night bazaar without being in the noise of it...service was lacking..however, this hotel is very very good value for money :)
I have been travelling to Thailand regulary since 1989, in that time I have stayed at most of the hotels in Chiang Mai. I can honestly say that for the price the Raming Lodge is the best hotel in Chiang Mai. The rooms are furnished in a traditional Thai style and the staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. Unfortunately I can only comment on the room and staff as I have only ever managed to get up for breakfast once and have never eaten dinner there.
We stayed at for one night on 24th November and it is easily the noisiest room I have ever stayed in anywhere. The noise from the Tuk Tuks that park outside and other general traffic is incredible, it is like trying to sleep on the fast lane of a motorway. Voices amplify from lower levels and doors banging nearly knock you out of bed. The room itself was ok and the service and staff were very good. Although it is a reasonably priced hotel I would only recommend it for those that can sleep through anything!
