The staff were fantastic, great place great location. Plenty of good (cheap) restaurants and the night market was just short walk up the road. Breakfasts were good. We would stay there again.
The rooms were good with the exception...
The rooms were good with the exception of the non existence of any "mentionable" windows. It's definitely too dark to read even when using the lights.
So these are not rooms where you could (or feel comfortable) to relax especially during day times.
We also didn't like the connecting door to the next room for obvious reasons.
What we did like were the breakfasts outside in the
green/ garden.
Stayed at this hotel for two night...
Stayed at this hotel for two night on Aug 2007. I would say the best thing about this hotel is the location which is just three to four minutes walk to the Tapae Gate and about seven to ten minutes walk to the Night Bazaar. Unfortunaly this hotel is located along the major bar / nightlife area which is more suitable for bachelor. Room is quite big but the furniture is a bit old and the lighting need to be improve. Bath room is without baht tub which is a let down for me and water heater is very hard to adjust. Service is good but breakfast is so so only. Overall I would say this is a basic hotel with nothing much to expect. With that type of price I think you can have a better stay at Chiang Mai.

I am very happy with this booking. The area is near the Night Bazaar and the staff are very friendly. The room is very clean and I was also very happy that everyday there was a plate of fresh fruits for us. The size of the room is big. The only thing not up to my expectation that the breakfast is not that varied but that is really not a major issue.

Our overall experience staying at Raming Lodge was good. It provides good service, and the staff are friendly in meeting our requests. The room size is good, and we like the northern lanna style ambience but the lighting condition was a bit dark. The breakfast is ok, quite standard. The location is situated between the old city and the night bazaar. If you are crazy about shopping at the night bazaar, you might want to consider other hotels nearer to the bazaar, because it takes quite a walk(about 7-8 minutes),and your legs would feel tired especially when you walk back after exploring the night bazaar and carrying your shopping items. You should try the local restaurant call AroonRai while you stay there, just 3 minutes walk from the hotel. It serves delicious & authentic thai food. You MUST try the Thai Ice Coffee! The only regret was that the hotel doesn't have a swimming pool, so you can't really chill out at the pool side and have a sip of coconut!

Raming Lodge is a very reasonable and cosy place to stay. It is in the heart of Chiang Mai, close to the old city and a 10 minute walk to the Night Bazaar. The breakfast was included and it was excellent. We stayed for two nights and will definitely go back. The staff was very helpful and the rooms were clean and comfortable.

Very good hotel, breakfast is very good. Room is done in neat Lanna style, clean and has many cultural decorations. I definately would stay here again. Heard that its a new hotel built in 2006.

it was a realy nice hotel , we had first some lil problems but that we handle realy fast with the personal!
the spa is cheap and let feel very well!
when we come back to chaing mai (and we will) then we will stay there again!
its near to night market and a lot of shops.
