Stylish hotel in central location walking distance...
Stylish hotel in central location walking distance from sights & restaurants. Graceful Thai service delivered with sincerity. Owner personally greeted guests at breakfast & made efforts to personalise my breakfast! Overall, a compact oasis of peace & serenity; a real 'boutique' hotel in every sense. Rooms a little small but made up for size with classic, charming interiors and all guest amenities. Great idea to include breakfast in cost. Complimentary hotel tuk-tuk service was also available to guests if it was free and not too far. This was a good thing as most Chiangmai tuk-tuk drivers do ask tourists for too much!! However, there was no room service menu nor spa menu in the in-room booklet. Hot water took a long while to come out of showers. And the breads at breakfast were awful - white, hard & sweet. But all in all, an excellent elegant hotel in an old area of Chiangmai. We would definitely return.

From the moment we entered through the gate we knew we'd come to a special place. Puripunn Baby Grand has loads of character and quality as well as a culture of excellent, personalised service. It has the facilities of a large 4 or 5-star hotel but on a smaller scale. We loved it! Loved the warmth of the people who work there (and seem to love working there). We had a Puripunn Deluxe room on the ground floor and particularly liked the entrance patio and the day bed in the bathroom. Used the tuk-tuk every day and most nights and enjoyed the fabulous high tea on our last afternoon - didn't need dinner. Will certainly come again.

We stayed at the Puripunn for 5...
We stayed at the Puripunn for 5 nights. This is the loveliest hotel we had stayed in the entire Thailand with our numerous visits there over the years. There are several reasons why we love this hotel so much. On the top of the list is their gracious service, gentle spirit, and kind hospitality expressed by the owner who came to greet us soon after we arrived and spent time sharing valuable info on what to do and where to go in Chiang Mai when we asked him for the info. The entire staff from front desk, dinning room staff, room cleaning staff are all super gracious and attentive without being intrusive in anyway. All of them made us feel so welcome. We really feel Puripunn has become our home away from home. The food at the hotel is great. We had breakfast, lunch, dinner there numerous time and each meal was deliciuos and well prepared. The environment of the hotel is very serene, tranquil, peaceful with a lovely garden with scented flowers, chipping birds, and a small lovely pool. The neigborhood is quiet, peaceful and very safe to walk out to the main street which soon leads to the Ping River, only a five minute walk to high quality shops, galleries, and nice restaurants along the river. On the other side of the river is more hassle bussle near the Night Bazaar. We are so glad we choose to stay at Puripunn, a lovely oasis with the most gracious Thai hospitality we have ever experienced and yet so convenient to go everywhere. The hotel provides free tuk tuk service to the night bazaar and the Sunday Night market. They do everything to make our stay as comfortable and charming as possible. We will for sure return to Puripunn in our future visits to Chiang Mai. We highly recommend this superb boutique hotel to anyone who values attentive hospitality and a gracious, serene environment. We would go back in a minute!!

This hotel is truly an oasis in...
This hotel is truly an oasis in a very busy, frenetic city. Entering from a busy street, a smaller throughfare goes about 2 winding blocks through an authentic traditional Thai neighborhood. Upon entering, there is a gate and a large open patio area with a garden, outdoor dining area under a veranda. On the other side is a entryway into the reception area. You are greeted by the receptionist and staff, asked to sit down and served tea or water. The rooms are emaculate, beds extremely comfortable, air conditioning excellent and the bathroom has a beautifully raised sink with a wonderful design. There is a balcony that overlooks the pool that I have spent much time on reading. The pool is exotic with a pagoda in the middle, salted water and cool but refreshing. It was used by several people each day. Breakfast was included and you have a choice of omlets or eggs anyway you choose, fresh fruit, small pastries, juices and wonderful coffee. We did not eat in the restaurant for other meals but rarely do when in a city with a diversity of wonderful restaurants like Chiang Mai, but we heard the restaurant is very good. Now the best for last...the staff. They bent over backwards, looked out for out best interests and made excellent recommendations and booked numerous day trips. I wonder whether they worried about us when we were gone. Very dedicated staff most of whom were hired when the hotel opened several years ago who are are seen as 'family'by the owner who would occassionally come by and talk with tourists. The location is good, about a 10 minute walk to the night bazaar, a longer walk to the old city. They have tuk tuks leaving every other hour from the hotel which are free but you must take your own back (about 60-80b which is $2US). You can also get a taxi from the hotel as well as dinner reservations by asking the front desk. If you want to take a less expensive tuk tuk they are a 3-4 minute walk away. This hotel has really made our trip wonderful. It is such a good alternative from the expensive resorts and big box hotels The rates are reasonable and in my opinion is an excellent value. It says alot about a hotel that you are sad to leave after 10 days.

The hotel was friendly and clean with a nice pool and surrounds. Location was a short ride into the centre. Restaurant was excellent. Room and services basic but in keeping with the style and adequate for a few nights stay. Would recommend this hotel if you want a quiet base for Chang Mai not necessarily in the centre.

Lovely small hotel off of the main street which makes it nice and quiet as the traffic can be quite noisy on the main road. Central with about a 10 min walk into town. Fantastic service, lovely rooms with a bathroom as big as the bedroom which was great.

My only real complaint is that when I asked the hotel receptionists to organise a taxi to take me and a customer of mine around silk factories the driver (and possibly incoherence with the hotel staff) tried to get commission from the places that I ASKED HIM to take me. Considering I have lived in Thailand for 20 years and I was accompanied by my Thai wife and I gave the driver addresses to where we had to go did not go down that well.

The hotel grounds, lobby area, garden landscape...
The hotel grounds, lobby area, garden landscape and room interiors were unique and absolutely beautiful. We were delighted. What a sense of design! A true oasis of quiet, tranquility and relaxation off the beaten track, in the heart of a commercial district but within easy walking distance of the river and night market. The staff were exceedingly friendly, gracious, courteous and helpful. We loved the green tea welcome drink! We would be happy to return to Chiang Mai just to stay at the Puripunn again. Pity we did not have the deal currently on offer of three nights for the price of two as the rate was a bit on the high side. Nevertheless, we loved every moment of our stay and were sorry to leave.

It was a great hotel. In a quite location but still close enough to places of interest. Was a short stroll to the night markets, lovely over the river. The pool is fantastic. Loved it here and loved Chiang Mai.
