Wonderful hotel, beautiful lobby, excellent service. Very cosy, very cute... very good value. Stayed for 4 nights. Was particularly impressed with the size of the bathroom... and the HUGE bathtub. Just a couple of tiny gripes... our room had a four post bed, and one of the posts blocked the view of the TV. Also, a little bit of traffic noise from the backroad below, but you'll soon get used to it. Breakfast was so-so. Not the best. Not the worst. Everything else in the hotel makes up for it tho. Especially with all the great furnishing and little touches. Overall, a wonderful little hotel for those who like it cozy.

Manathai Village is an absolutely beautiful hotel....
Manathai Village is an absolutely beautiful hotel. The whole style (Northern Thailand) is lovely. The pool setting is ideal and the facilities brilliant. The restaurant is well presented with good food and service. There is complimentary internet service. The pool bar is perfect. The reception staff were lovely, very helpful and pleasant. The room was of good size, clean and fully operational. Location is close to Night Bazaar which is perfect in Chiang Mai.

We had stayed at Manathai in Phuket and found it good so came to Chang Mai and found it better! Room was great, the hotel is in a quiet location a bit out of the way but good for a romantic break. We stayed in a deluxe room which was worth the extra money.

The decoration of the village is designed...
The decoration of the village is designed in thai and resort feel. Unlike other business hotels, Manathai will give you a special feel inside the wooden building. Most great, Manathai also has a computer room for customers' use but the speed of computers is quite slow. The drawback is the location because you need to pass a dark street before arriving at the entrance. The breakfast is OK but the variety of food is limited. Moreover, it is on the second floor and you need to climb up one stair. Another compliant is the bathtub in my room is not clean enought with rust stain. That spoiled the good design of other parts of the room. In my view, Tamarind Village is better.

Great traditional village style hotel. Rooms are small but well decorated and clean. We wanted to stay in the Lana village style hotel and thats what we got. Very good, inexpensive alternative to Yaang Come and Tamarind Villages. Location is close to everything.

Manathai village is a new and really...
Manathai village is a new and really beautiful small lanna-style ressort in the centre of Chiang Mai. Nice rooms and a real calm oasis. The only bad experience we had was with the service and the management. We have booked two nights via asiarooms.com. During our two nights stay we have asked for a private driver to get us to some places in the north for two days. Everything went fine and was organised by the ressort. We were supposed to stay one more night in the Manathai after our return from the tour, but on our way back, the hotel management informed us via mobile phone, that our room was no longer available (apparentyl they didn't know that we were supposed to stay one more night, although we have spoken to several employees about that topic), and they proposed us the suite for a rate 4 times higher than we have paid for our room during the first two nights. After our denial of taking the suite for the 4 times higher rate, the staff managed to get us in another hotel for an appropriate room rate. But after we have arrived at the hotel, it turned out the the room rate the Manathai people had told us, didn't fit for us – only for Thai people. A real laugh, as if the ressort didn't know about our nationality! So my advice is to make sure about room rates by reservations in advance with a clear reconfirmation by the hotel.

Hotel situated on a 10min walk down...
Hotel situated on a 10min walk down a quiet soi.Walking back from night market late at night scary for ladies. Most tuk tuk drivers dont know where it is so may be better to tell them you want to go to the temple ouside the soi called Wat Bupparam and then direct them in. Bathroom pathetically small.Bathtub looks old and stained perhaps on purpose in keeping with the rustic atmosphere of hotel.too dirty and small to sit in so have to stand in it and shower. No shower curtain so floor messy and wet after shower.Towel rack situated on wall above bathtub so towels get wet during your shower! Also no dressing table for your toiletries. Staff though polite and helpful are too young and inexperienced. They lounge around and indulge in playful antics with each other. My room (No.521)just above the pool bar. 2 out of 3nights I was there they were talking and laughing into the wee hours of the mornings.Very disturbing for those trying to sleep.

Manathai village is excellent. I had a pool front room and its simply great. The staff were friendly and always willing to help to make your stay and holiday perfect. The service at the tour desk is good too. The room size is a little small though but its adequate for 2 persons. Breakfast can be improved further but with everything esle being so good, it won't affect much. Overall, everybody at Manathai is excellent.

Ambience was great in this little classic...
Ambience was great in this little classic hotel. The staff was pleasent and the atmosphere is very serene. Restaruant serves limited food range on the menu and breakfast is just too plain. However given the size of the hotel, one cannot wish for more. Room was fine except that there was insufficient hangers to dry clothes or towel. The pipe in the tube is made of hard metal and it might be dangerous with elderly and children. There is wireless internet but signal is weak and the router often needs to be rest. Business center is available and well furnish. Great location out from the main road and very near to the Night Bazzara and Sunday Market.
