Styed at the RatiLanna for 3 nights....
Styed at the RatiLanna for 3 nights. First of, this boutique hotel has been taken over by Sofitel and whether this will have a positive effect remains to be seen. The hotel decor overall is modern thai minimalist and very tastefully done up.
The room is of sufficient size with a balcony. The room is equipped with a king sized bed, lcd panel television and a cd/dvd player over and above the usual. They do not supply cds nor dvds so bring your own if you intend to spend a lot of time in your hotel room. The balcony is equiped with a day bed and a small coffee table. All electrical amenities are controlled from a panel next to the bed. The room was very clean.
The bathroom is big and equpped with a bath tub (it was filled up and sprinkled with orchid petals when I arrived) and rain shower. Next to the bath tub and separated by a wood framed glass sliding window is a water feature which you may slide open while you take a soak. There is also an LCD telivision to keep you entertained while you soak. There is the usual supply of bath, hand and foot towels and toileteries (shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, shaving kit, oral kit, sewing kit etc). A very nice touch was the essential oil burmer which the hotel staff will light up when they turn your bed in the evening. The batroom was also very clean.
As the weather was cool when I was there, I didnt use the pool. It is an infinity pool facing the river with the usual sun deck and pool bar.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful throughout my stay there. The impression they left me was that nothing was too much trouble. I had breakfast brought to my room every morning during my stay there and thoroughly enjoyed it! Although they have hotel limousines, they never did once tried to insist on its usage and were willing to assist by booking cabs, tuk tuks etc for my trips into town although I did use the limo once when the taxi did not arrive. They were very apologetic and gave me use of the limpo at half price!
I was uncertain if I made the right choice when I booked into RatiLanna (there was no review when I booked) but left very satisfied.
