Tea Vana is a nice concept, with rooms and their color scheme themed around various kinds of tea. The hotel property is also beautiful, though the location is across the river from the night market and lacks easy accessibility to shops and conveniences; however, those things are within walking distance. The problem is that beyond the concept there is no management of the property. We only saw the desk clerk and never a manager. Although advertised, the wireless internet was not functioning. In short, the hotel falls short of its potential.

I had a very enjoyable stay at Tea Vana. The hotel is very small with just 30 rooms but tastefully and beautifully designed and decorated. Location is good and convenient, within walking distance to night basar with many sovernir shops nearby. Quiet environment. Staff are friendly and helpful. The food served at the T-Bar restaurant is of exceptionally high standard but reasonably priced. Must try or you'd regret. I'd definitely stay at Tea Vana again when I pay a second visit to Chiang Mai. I'd also not hesitate to recommend this hotel to my friends.

The room and the surrounding is amazing. The only problem is the bathroom,we all felt that the shower head is not so fit for use and the water temperature is not stable, sometimes hot sometimes cold. That's all.But I really love Tea-Vana and willing to go back if I can.

The staff were always courteous, extremely helpful and friendly. The rooms were scrupulously cleaned and freshened daily. The pool was clean and a welcome respite from the afternoon heat. This hotel is lovely; well laid out and maintained. The staff are attentive and friendly without being overbearing. The hotel is within walking distance to the night bazaar and restaurants but far enough from the busiest area to be quiet and peaceful. We loved this hotel and will definitely recommend to friends and family.

My friend and I stayed at Tea...
My friend and I stayed at Tea Vana in late Aug for 4 nights in their cheapest room. The hotel is nice but some of the décor is a little outdated. The room was a reasonable size, clean and the AC worked well. The staff were very friendly but not very confident with English. Breakfast was OK, you are given a choice from a limited set menu and they were flexible if you wanted something changed. The free internet in reception was a nice bonus and the speed was pretty good. The location was walking distance to the night market and restaurants and a short tuk tuk ride to the old city. The only down falls were they charged us for a bucket of ice and when we booked a taxi to the airport they obviously received a very generous commission as it was 2.5 times more than if we’d hailed it our self. The hotel was very cheap and with that in mind overall it was a good experience. I’d recommend it for those who are happy with nothing fancy but clean and tidy for a good price.

An absolutely amazing, beautiful hotel with all amenities. The staff go out of their way to accomodate all requests. Night bazaar a very short walk away and close to most forms of transport. Local taxi service and tuk tuk stand across the road. The restuarant is run by renowned chef and food is excellent. Tried many 5 star restuarants and this one leaves the others in the dust!!!! Hotel has a fantastic range of designer body products and also an amazing salon of designer clothes - very reasonably priced. Products by up and coming Thai designers. Would not hesitate to recommend and can't wait to visit again. Full kudos to hotel management and staff. Thanks to Asia Rooms!

This hotel was a little gem just over the river from the main centre and only a 5 min walk from the night bazaar. It is also only a 5 min walk from great riverside restaurants. The staff were extremely helpful, even though there was some slight language problems. We had a meal at the restaurant, which is a fusion restaurant, Thai/Japanese, which was excellent and good value for money. In previous postings some people complained about looking onto a wall, this is not much of an issue as ther is a walkway between tou and the wall and there are bamboo growing there. If you want to be on the top of a corporate hotel where everything is the same no matter where you are then this is not for you. If like us you like individuality and a family feel, then do stay here.

Hotel located across the road from the...
Hotel located across the road from the Ping River, 5-10 minute walk to the night market and the "food street". Small "boutique hotel", with interesting design of coutyard and rooms, but with some quirks. Lovely central courtyard with plants, fountain, and small (10 m) pool. Our "English Breakfast" room had large circular bath and comfortable king size bed, but no easy chair, and dim lighting. Free internet access (1 station) in lobby. OK breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff.

The standard room is without the bathtub & the room is quite small. Overall staying Tea Vana is okay but I think could get better hotel with the same price. Need to walk about 10-15mins to reach night bazarra or 40 batt for taking "tuk tuk". Is a quite place & next to it got tour company which I'd booked the tour from there. Price should be within the acceptable range compare to others. e.g. 800 - 1100 batt per pax/day. Will try other hotel if my next visit to Chiang Mai.
