What you would expect from the Shangri-La
Excellent staff, very helpful, fantastic pool, jacuzzi, steam room and facilities. As you would expect from a hotel of this standard really.
The hotel is well located near the old city wall and so it is easy to get into town and only a short walk from the night bazaar.
The buffet at 399THB++ in their restaurant is also very good value, there is also free corkage on a Tuesday and Wednesday night, if you want to take some of your own wine/champagne with you, as this is less good value, but that is pretty pricey anywhere in Thailand.
All in all a great stay and highly recommended.
Solid 5 star hotel with excellent staff
The stay was near perfect and the hotel was lovely throughout and the staff were very helpful. We stayed as part of our honeymoon and the hotel helped the celebrations with a complimentary bottle of good wine and chocolates. The pool and grounds were very good and the hotel is very close to the night bazaar and other attractions. We only ate at the hotel restaurant once and the food was very good and came at a good price (too many other good restaurants to try eat in the city to eat at the hotel more often). The room was big and well furnished with a beautiful view and no outside noise whatsoever. Free wifi access was also a bonus.

This is a modern hotel close to the downtown area of CM. We stayed for 3 nights in a Horizon Club room. The room was great and the staff in the Horizon Club - and throughout the hotel - could not have been more helpful. We really enjoyed our stay.
