The non-existent ventilation in the bathroom meant the room smelt of drains, was hot, and steam not easily cleared. The room was supposed to be superior but was tiny and not enough space for two people to move around comfortably. It was a disappointment.

My stay again at Chiang Mai Gate Hotel
I have been staying here at this hotel every time I visit Chiang Mai. There are shops to send one's laundry, motorcycle rental shops are just around the corner and I have no complaints whatsoever as I am paying only 79 ringgit for a spacious room with satellite tv, bath tub and a quiet place to rest.There is a cheap and tasty Muslim food stall just in front of the nearby Kasikorn Bank across the moat. Worth eating if one is too tired to eat at Anusarn Night Market.Overall,I will be back again.

No complaints except no wi-fi in room but for d amount paid that is hardly a big fault. Maybe for breakfast, cereals would be welcome by Muslim guests whose choice are quite limited to salad and bread.
Chiang Mai Gate Hotel is ideal, as it is in a very handy location and not too far from anything. The rooms were very clean, service was excellent and the staff were very friendly and most helpful. They have an airport shuttle service to ferry guests to and from the airport, plus free transport to the daily Night Market. I have been to this hotel a few times now and will most definitely return as it's a hotel where I am always made to feel most welcome, like an old friend, and I feel as though I belong there! When I returned the hotel very kindly upgraded me to a luxury room.
AsiaRooms were very prompt and most efficient in making my various bookings and I am very happy to stick with them. Threy also obtained very generous discounts at the hotel.

Frendly Service
We found this hotel to be clean and frendly, the location was good ,just 10 min from airport and 5 min from night markets , it was easy to get transport to both and hotel in quiet area, we would stay here again,
Location, location
Great location, close to airport, the old city, and easy access to tourist transport etc. Rooms are getting a little "tired" and in need of a coat of paint and a tidy up but are not yet at the stage of being shabby. Because I stayed 4 nights I was upgraded to the next level quality of room - in reality there was very little difference between the two types of room.
Having said all this, it is a great hotel to stay at. The staff are friendly and the location is great.

We were very pleased with our stay the room and facilities were good. The location is great for shoppers with the Saturday and Sunday walking markets close by and free nightly transpertation to the night bazaar. We are in are sixtys on a budget and this hotel was very reasonably priced.

The standard room is spacious and comfortable. They offer a very delicious buffet breakfast and a good service of free shuttle minibus to take you to night market every night at 8:00pm. Staffs are so nice and humourous. Overally, everything is wonderful, except the furnitures look a bit old. But can not expect too much, coz the inexpensive price already reflects it.

I stayed this hotel from June 12 to June 14 for a part of honeymoon trip.
When I checked in on June 12, the reception told me there wasn't "King/Queen size room" for me, however I showed the staff the confirmation from ChiangMai Gate Hotel directly, they told me "sorry, nobody checked out". Finally, we had to combine two beds by ourselves.
The service was not bad, the breakfast is good.
This hotel is suitalbe for a couple or family, price is reasonable.
