With my grown children I spent several days at this modern day Shangri-La in Chiang Mai. In a private setting, with exquisite ancient architectural buildings and lovely floral grounds, large British luxurious rooms with beautifully appointed décor, the Oriental Siam Resort was an outstanding retreat for us as we traveled through Thailand. The meals were outstanding; we dinned in charming ambiance, overlooking a tradition Thai garden setting viewing a lotus pond.
We felt like family. The people the could not have been more accommodating, offering assistance for our comfort, travel information, arrangements ,besides assisting me in my pressing business communication needs. The owners, Pongri and Peter are first class.
I have traveled Western Europe, Africa and South America, mostly in Switzerland; Oriental Siam is among the top places I have visited.JL, Greenwich, Ct.

We came to the area to experience a lot of the adventurous activities & this resort was a gem of a base. We actually went away to Chiang Rai and came back after a few days - it was perfect for us. Poongsi & Peter were exceptionally hospitable & everyone made a big fuss of our son who became a teenager while we were there. The standard of accommodation was extremely high - anything we needed was (apparently) no trouble at all.
I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this resort - they work hard to make your stay a great experience and it shows.

I cannot recommed this hotel enough, My husband and I have never stayed anywhere so serene , peaceful and beautiful. the staff are fantastic. there is nothing they won"t do for you , their kindness is genuine. their service is impecable, the food is mouth watering , from breakfast to dinner, , the setting is just a beautiful oasis of colour , Peter , Pongsri"s (manager)husband tends the wonderful gardens , the most beautiful flowers, are every where, There is a beatiful buddhist temple just outside the grounds. they will help you with anything you need, tours are suggested if wanted.(not pushed) the villas are just so perfect, . flat screen tv. FANTASTIC WATER PRESSURE, AND HOT WATER, decore is calming , wonderful carved doors, beatiful big beds,Just eating is a pleasure , over looking lotus pond. there is also a dvd , in room , you can get movie"s from the internet room. There is a gym. wonderful pool.Massages, I asked my husband to pinch me, (I must of been dreaming) then I said no don"t because if I am dreaming I don"t want to wake up.) oriental siam resort is the most beautiful place we have ever had the pleasure of staying at. any one. who is thinking of staying , just read theses reviews. don"t think twice, spoil yours selves , you will not regret a second of staying at the oriental siam resort, MY husband and I would not think of staying any where else , in chiangmai after being so spoilt .I actually had tears in my eyes when we left , it is the most relaxing holiday we have ever had, Thank you so much to all the staff at the oriental siam resort

This place is fantastic - a real pleasure and oasis. Pongsri (the owner) along with the staff truly went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable and easy as possible. They arranged transportation, provided us with a local cell phone, and made us feel like old friends. I was traveling with my older father, and they took extra care to make sure he was comfortable - so this is a good hotel if you are looking for a senior-friendly place, or a place for families or groups. The hotel is immaculate, with spacious rooms and bathrooms. Breakfast is served on an outdoor porch in a traditional Thai garden with a lotus pond, and there is a wide range of menu choices. They provide free transport to the airport which is nice as many places charge a high price for this service. Definitely a good choice in Chiang Mai.

I stayed in the resort for a full week and I've never experienced anything like this ever before.... The staff would just do anything to make your stay as comfortabel as possible!
They also organised my brothers wedding in the resort and turned it into some kind of fairytale! unbelievable and absolutely stunning how the entire staff had organised this traditional Thai wedding! they even arranged the hiring of our costumes!
Breakfast every morning was a real surprise. the food was exellent and the cook is very good in bringing up a different Thai speciality or snack every day.

This resort has a beautifull place to stand. It has nice staff. The things you can do is alot. They bring you where you want. That is nice, because I really like to stay there and do things instead of only sitting in my room. The room is big, with alot stuff in it, but still very clean. It has good service, and every day they come and clean your room. I also have a safe feeling when im in the resort. The guards are watching over us each day and night. And they told me if the gaurds are sleepign or just dont do theyre work, that they fire them. The activities are great. They reserve everything for you and search alot of things that im intrested. I am sure i will come back.

My wife and I took advantage of a five day stay at The Oriental Siam Resort, Chiang Mai which is nestled behind a Buddhist temple on the outskirts of Chiang Mai, this resort is peaceful and offers a typical and unique heritage resort atmosphere where one can experience unfettered privilege but in a manner that always feels accessible rather than something remote and strange. As guests my wife and I enjoyed the experience of a relaxed atmosphere where our energies were replenished. This resort offers an experience of authentic sensations far from the bustling activity of the city. It was a privilege to have breakfast each morning overlooking a small water fall and pond full of water lilies and lotus blooms whilst listening to birds and other small forms of wild life greet you to the awaking day. The Oriental Siam Resort offered a warm, friendly and special care so we were made to feel comfortable and safe in capable hands. I asked the management if I could view each villa which is unique and offers similar but different facilities. The gardens in the resort are something to behold and a credit to management who have worked hard in preparing what could be classed as a true heritage resort.
The Oriental Siam Resort is surrounded by many of Chang Mai?s beautiful golf courses which is only a 30 minute or less taxi ride in any direction from the resort to teeing off at the first hole at one of the charming golf courses. I particularly enjoyed golfing at the Royal Chiang Mai golf course which was arranged by the friendly staff. Chiang Mai city centre and riverside restaurants with live entertainment and fine food is only a 20 minute ride from the resort. The resort staff were only to happy to help with recommending and organizing our other recreational activities such as quad bike riding, white water rafting and visits to the famous Chang Mai performing elephants. On the way to the elephant reserve we stopped off for lunch at the tiger park where if you are brave enough you can pat a tiger.
It isn?t just the physical beauty of the place, its peace and its facilities that make it so special, and it's the warmth, attentiveness and apparently telepathic skills of the staff and their infinite attention to detail. Lie on a lounger by the pool and an attendant will bring you iced water, a towel and offer fruit and or cold beer. The resort can also offer Thai massage treatment on the lower level of the beautiful surroundings in the family home stay, something I took advantage of on a couple of occasions. My wife and I shall definitely return to the Oriental Siam Resort in the near future.

An absolutely wonderful boutique hotel, with private villas clustered around a pool and a lily pond --- a real sanctuary from the frenzy of daily city life. A tranquil setting, spotlessly clean pool tucked into manicured gardens, spacious and tasteful rooms, gorgeous food, splendid owners, an eager and smiling staff, a range of facilities, massive high-def TVs, free Internet, spiffy workout equipment, discreet security: Everything is just right. A world-class property at an exceedingly fair price.

GUESTS NEEDS OR INTERESTS ARE ANTICIPATED AND SUGGESTIONS ARE OFFERED AND ACTED UPON WITH PRECISION BY THE EXTREMELY KEEN MANAGEMENT. THE RESORT IS SITUATED IN A VILLAGE SETTING WHICH MY WIFE & I PREFER TO URBAN COMMOTION. EQUIDISTANT TO THE OLD CITY AND THE AIRPORT, EACH ONLY 15 MINUTES AWAY; WE FOUND IT TO BE A PERFECTLY TRANQUIL, YET NOT INCONVENIENT LOCATION. HAVING STAYED AT ALL LEVELS OF ACCOMMODATION ALL AROUND THE WORLD FOR MANY YEARS; WE ARE PROUD TO SAY THAT OUR STAY AT THE ORIENTAL SIAM RESORT WAS ONE OF THE FINEST EXPERIENCES OF OUR LIVES. WHEN WE RETURN TO CHAING MAI, WE WILL LOOK NOWHERE ELSE FOR ACCOMMODATION, AND ONLY HOPE WE WILL HAVE THE GOOD FORTUNE TO FIND VACANCY AT THIS WONDERFUL ESTABLISHMENT.
