Very disappointing ! I think, reading the former guests comments, that I must have stayed at another hotel ! We live in Thailand for most of the year and I would say that Thailand has some of the best hotels in the world. The service is usually second to none, but unfortunately this Dusit Island Hotel is not a good advert for Thai hotels and Dusit chain in particular. From the moment we arrived (after a 500 mile drive) the service at reception was slow and unprofessional and the bedroom looked 'tired', very grubby valance on the bed and towels in the bathroom had seen much better days. The buffet breakfast was poor, especially compared with the one we had had at the Sheraton, Chiang Mai, (a 5 star hotel which was actually several pounds a night cheaper) and the service again slapdash. Our last day we wished to relax quietly by the pool but it was invaded by what was obviously a children's swimming class, not guests staying at the hotel. The noise was deafening and not what one expects from a 4 star hotel. I will say no more, although I could, but suffice to say I will not stay at this Dusit again and will certainly not recommend it.
