Stay 2006 Dec 26 - 30; superior room, twin; as a resort facility, this hotel offers all the amenities. Check-in/check-out was quick and efficient. Service was impeccable and my room was clean and nicely laid out. I didn't make use of the restaurants and shops. Pool area is gorgeous but the weather was too cool during my visit. The hotel is located on a river island and is nicely landscaped for pleasant walks. Though slightly isolated from town center, it offered an hourly shuttle van to the night market area during the evenings. But if you're willing to walk it's only 20 minutes. Highly recommended if you need a quiet, elegant place to stay.

"The Dusit in Chiang Rai is set..."
The Dusit in Chiang Rai is set on an island and is therefore in a beautiful position with lovely gardens, and. surprisingly an area to grow it's own fresh veg. The staff are delighful and
very helpful. My only gripe is that the pool service was minimal (no cold towels or waiter service) and I am used to two towels per sun bed and only one was provided The food was excellent but English versions e.g,. chicken and chips were poor, therefore stick to what the locals do best.

A second tsunami hits the Kingdom of Thailand, but a wave of cancellation after the riots at the airport. Visinting Chang Rai I found the Dusit Thani with no customers (probably the three quarter of
the rooms were vacant) but the service was at the top level. A very professional approach to their job and mission ... I suggest the Dusit Thani to everybody.

"Even the hotel is located a bit..."
Even the hotel is located a bit outside of downtown Chiang Rai, I absolutely enjoyed the stay here. The staff has been very helpful and extremely friendly all the time. The room offered a great
view on the river. Hotel organized airport transportation was flawless and the on-site spa offered superb Thai massage. Breakfast was a bit below my expectation (compared to Sofitel Khon Kaen or Amari Coral Beach Phuket), but a lot better than the average European hotel breakfast buffet. I will definitely come back to Chiang Rai again and will stay at the Dusit Island Resort again for sure!

"Dusit Island resort Chiang Rai is a..."
Dusit Island resort Chiang Rai is a good hotel. I stayed in a deluxe twin room which was nicely furnished spacious and clean. The swimmming pool is fabulous. I was a bit worried because I
had seen in the reviews that someone said that the breakfast was ridiculous but it is not true. I can tell that I have stayed in many hotels in Thailand and Dusit Island offers a good breakfast with a large choice of food. The staff is polite and helpfull. The hotel is a bit out of the city center but it is possible to walk to get it in about 15 minutes. The fitness center is small and badly equipped. Anyway I am sure to stay again in this hotel if I go back to Chiang Rai.

"The staff were very polite & helpful,..."
The staff were very polite & helpful, good buffet breakfast, hotel is set in beautiful well maintained grounds, generally very relaxing & inviting gardens & great pool. Car parking is located outdoors some 50 - 60
metres from hotel entrance, this is a problem in the rainy season, the dash from the car park to the hotel up numerous steps becomes a little trying. The Dusit is a lovely hotel but it is showing signs of its age ! I would highly recommend Asia Rooms as a booking agent! Bob Algate
