Good hotel and good value for money....
Good hotel and good value for money. Clean large room and all rooms with a private balcony. Very large and well maintained garden, large and clean swimming pool. This resort is a stop-over for bus-groups ... so it's verry calm during the day and you have the swimming pool for yourself ... great ! Rimkok resort is in a remote location on the border of the Khok River. Distance to Chiang Rai city : 4km but shutlle service availabe (roundtrip 60baht/person) from 9AM till 10h30. Hotel needs some external maintenance (painting and roof-upgrading) but overall its bautifull.

My family and I enjoyed our stay...
My family and I enjoyed our stay at the Rimkok Resort. We found the staff helpful and attentive. The rooms were very clean. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The Rimkok is out of town, but since we had the use of a car, that was no problem. In fact, we specifically went there because it was quiet. I would consider the Rimkok a good 3 star resort and excellent for the price. My only criticism is that classical Thai music is piped through speakers in all corridors from about 9am to 8pm every day. While not very loud, it can be heard inside the room and tends to grate after a while. It would be good if the hotel would ensure that the music cannot be heard inside the rooms, or dispense with it altogether.

Rimkok Resort hotel used to be a...
Rimkok Resort hotel used to be a palatial resort. Today, is't a place for large tour groups to spent the night and disappear the next day. The grounds are beautiful and the rooms are fine but the hotel is dead during the day. Shuttle to/ from town is only available from 6PM-10:30PM and cost 60 baht per person. The hotel is too far away from town and definitley not in walking distance. Nothing to do at the hotel except use the swimming pool. Even tour desk, shop and massage place are closed most of the time. I would not stay there again only because of the location (too far from town) and the lack of transportation from the hotel to anywhere except at night. They also charge 80 baht per person to go to the airport, but their brochure shows it as a free service.

During my stay at RIMKOK Resort (03/2005) I found the room well cleaned everyday, tha staff was really friendly and the pool...HUGE! Breakfast and buffet dinner were excellent value, plenty of choices. Internet, shops,travel desk, free newspaper from reception,kiosk...With room rate starting at around 20 € per night I would rank RIMKOK at my top10 great value for money hotels. The garden is nice and the 50 baht rt Shuttle service to City is great, do not be afraid of distance to city!

upon arrival i found the Rimkok resort...
upon arrival i found the Rimkok resort staff unfriendly,no welcome drink,not even a smile from front desk.when i was shown my room, i was disgusted by how old the decor was needs updating,the carpets,bathroom needed a good clean.
