Hotel is build in a perfect ECO...
Hotel is build in a perfect ECO style and ideal for nature lovers who appreciate some luxury.
The staff is very friendly.
Restaurant has excellent food and serves breakfast with homemade bread, marmalade, juice and yoghurt
Unique views from the room, but a small minus is that there is a new big resort build on a mountain in the front what had to open soon.
The garden is a beautiful mix of green, flowers and very funny pottery.
Pool is small but has also a wonderfull view.
Can not realy recommanded this hotel for disabled or senior guests who have problems with many steps.

a beautiful surroundings with simple and adequate facilitaties, tough a bit outdated, friendly and supprotive staff, arrange transfer from airport and to chiangmai in a smooth manner, except the slow in reply to email. saw a similar but new resort has been built (not sure whether it has been opened) so not sure whether will choose the same or the other one when i visit the same place
The Phu Chasai is full of surprises...
The Phu Chasai is full of surprises - most of which are good ones. The location first seems remote (30 minutes from Chiang Rai town), almost to a fault (since you need a pricey taxi to get to town and back), but you are rewarded by being inside nature, far away from the hustle and bustle. The service is calm and kind. The grounds are meticulously kept as a rampant jungle (not as contradictory as it sounds). The food is simple and decent (the Thai food far superior to the western attempts). Best of all, the toiletries, salad, jams - are all made using local herbs and plants. They are fresh, mostly organic, and delicious / fragrant. A very relaxing place for a few days roaming the northersn countryside.

A good resort in nice surroundings, but with some faults that make it less appealing than it could be. Things that some may consider essential (e.g. a TV) are missing owing to the eco-philosophy of the resort. Fair enough. Yet other things - like getting your not exactly cheap meal served hot - should nonetheless be standard at this level. Overall a nice place, but given the facitilities certainly overpriced.

Great hotel, fantastic location! We got upgraded from a deluxe room to a huge villa without extra charge. The rooms and villas are wide spread over the mountain, check the exact room loaction before you book. There is noisy constrution going on at one side of the mountain and if your room is on the same side, you will not enjoy your stay.
Apart from that a great place to stay.

An interesting location for get away couples,...
An interesting location for get away couples, the service was adequate but not memorable we particularly enjoyed the bamboo clad vehicles. Evening on the veranda sipping a cocktail was the highlight. The menu was uninspired though the food was good. Breakfast was particulary dull and almost worth missing.The resort has a fabulous location but on the whole is now rather dated. If shabby chic is your thing go for it, this is the place for you.

A very special and nice place in the mountains north of Chiang Rai. If you are looking for a romantic place away from the beach but close to nature this is the right place. If you are a concrete child, scared of the sounds of nature such as frogs and Gecco lizards you should stay away and book a room in a city (New York or Moscow?). We (me and my fiancé) really enjoyed our stay in our "Honeymoon Suite (Love Nest). Very romantic.
The staf was very friendly and service minded.
If you are spoiled and like the "Las Vegas" style you should stay away (and let the rest of us get the chance to enjoy this place...Please, stay away)...And I will feel sorry for you that you will miss this experience.

STAYED THERE ONLY 2 NIGHTS - IF WE WOULD HAVE KNOWN HOW BEAUTIFUL IT IS, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN LONGER. ALTHOUGH IT WAS RAINING MOST OF THE TIME AND NOT SOOO HOT, THE LOCATION AND ROOMS AND FRIENDLY SERVICE OF THE STAFF THERE MADE IT A VERY PLEASANT STAY. THE VALUE FOR MONEY IS ABSOLUTELY OK AND IN CASE WE COME BACK TO NORTHERN THAILAND WE WILL FOR SURE COME BACK TO PHU CHAISAI.

I can't think of anything negative except maybe for the restaurant which is a lot more expensive than others of the same kind.
The hotel is far away from everything.
You will need some time to get there and back.
