Excellent location: 5 minute walk to the night market and a variety of nearby restaurants. ATM machine across the street. Rooms are in several 2-story buildings adjacent to open-air reception area stocked with reference and travel books. Nicely landscaped with plants and decorated with native craft items. No elevators but the employees cheerfully carry luggage up the stairs. The included breakfast is in their own restaurant; service by waiter; limited choices. My room was very clean; shabby around the edges but serviceable with clean bedding and towels; A/C and ceiling fan but no TV. The door could use additional locks. Street noise is minimal as the rooms are set well back from the street. Grounds include a tour and trekking company and rental cars. Perfect for the budget traveler who doesn't need or want the glitter of chain hotels, swimming pools, exercise rooms, gift shops, etc.

My stay at the Golden Triangle Inn was a most unexpected pleasure. The staff were delightful, efficient and helpful. The rooms were simple, clean, restful and everything worked.
The hotel provided a good range of breakfast options and had a very good restaurant attached - the food was delicious. Every service was reasonably priced, tours were very well organised, informative and on time. There is much to see.
The location was ideal. A modest fixed price taxi ride from the airport took you to the door within 15 minutes. Vehicle rental was next door and the night market 8 - 10 minutes walk away.
From start to finish it was clear that the hotel is very well run with typical Thai warmth, charm and elegance. It felt like an exotic second home.

Golden Triangle Inn is in good location, only 10 minutes drive from Chiang Rai airport and a short walk to the centre. One advantage is that there are 2 care hire places right next door. The staff are generally friendly and helpful. The rooms are about right for the price - a good size and clean, though twin beds seemed to be the only option, even though we requested a double bed during the booking process. The walls are a bit thin so you can hear the conversations next door but, other than that, it is quiet. Breakfast was ok.

We stayed just one night,it's about 10 mins walk to the town and bus station. They had a resturant on site, where you have breakfast, prices are good. Can be a problem getting a tuktuk into town, but hotel can do a transfer.

A GOOD BUDGET HOTEL WITH EXCELLENT STAFF, AND A GREAT LOCATION CLOSE TO THE TOWN WALKING DISTANCE, BUT NOT SO CLOSE YOU SUFFER FROM ANY NOISE.
The breakfast could be better a lot of choice but not a lot of food.
The satff where very friendly, and the tour company associated with the hotel, in the hotel grounds was excellent.

No shampoo and only 1 piece of soap.
No hotwater vase in the room.
Door lock is not secure.
Outside people can see through the windows opening.

Over priced for what you get. 7oo baht for no tv, no shower curtain, bad smell, mosquitos maak maak, no refrigerator, poor lighting, and long wait for breakfast. I found a very nice hotel 500 kilometers away for 350 baht. Look elsewhere.
