the palm garden hotel is excellent value, the staff is outstanding and will go out of their way to help you.
the hotel is not well located but the staff will call a tuk-tuk and for 60 baht you will be in the centre of chiang rai.
the money saved on your hotel bill will adequately compensate for the extra 20 baht you have to pay to get into chiang rai.
breakfast was great. the staff are the greatest attraction at this hotel. people talk about thai smiles, well at the palms garden you see the biggest smiles ever and they are genuine.
give them a go, you will not regret it.
We stayed at the Palm Garden Hotel...
We stayed at the Palm Garden Hotel for 4 days in March 2009 and found it to be a lovely, new small hotel with great attention to detail. The manager Mui is a delightful, young woman who speaks perfect English and who has keen insight about what Americans and Europeans want in a hotel. The full buffet breakfast of both Asian and Western food is delicious and beautifully presented. The staff are all exceedingly well trained and very helpful. The traditional Thai dress for the staff adds to the ambiance of the hotel. Guests can eat at the hotel restaurant from an Asian menu for lunch and dinner or ride by tuk-tuk for 60 Baht to the Night Market area downtown, where many Western-style restaurants are located. The hotel staff can help guests arrange tours to destinations in the Golden Triangle area. We enjoyed our stay very much!

This Hotel is just on the outskirts but within easy reach of the city. Breakfast is more traditional Thai than western. Really enjoyed our stay.

This is a great boutique hotel in easy reach of the city centre and tourist activity.It is modern with all facilities and the rate is extremely competitive particularly for travellers on a budget.
The hotel has a small restaurant which serves traditional Thai food with room service also available a western breakfast is also available.
The staff are extremely friendly and helpfuland eager to please.
It will be my hotel of choice on my next visit to Chaing Ra.

We were treated to some some wonderful Thai hospitality at this hotel. The hotel is very clean and new,and our room had a view over rice fields.
The hotel arranged a mini van with a driver for only 1500 baht plus the cost of the fuel.Great value.
On the down side it,s a 10 minute tuk tuk ride out of town and they are still building their restaurant and function center, so 2 trips to town a day are required for meals.

I had a wonderful weekend over there in Chiang Rai. The employees were totally friendly from the first second until the end. I had a huge room with an enormous bed ... Everything was really clean. They organised everything for me - on Sunday I got my own car including driver. When I needed anything they were there for me at any time. I was really impressed! I will come back for sure...
