Excellent Experience!
We stayed at the Le Meridien Chiang Rai for two nights with our one year old daughter. Our experience was very pleasant. The staff treated out daughter incredibly well, she was like a celebrity! With the exception of some glass tops to the side tables, the room was quite child friendly - an unexpected plus. Grounds were lovely, food was good and the pool was very nice - it included a large childrens pool as well. The only complaint I would have is that they should let you know when something is not available from the menu. I ordered a tart that was supposed to have sun dried tomatoes and kalamata olives, but it came out with fresh tomatoes and black olives. It still tasted good, but it was not what I was expected. Not a big deal in the big scheme of things and it did not detract from our experience.
We were suprised that our total food bill came out so low, as we were expecting a much higher price due to eating in all the time, ordering children's meals and indulging in a few drinks. So, very reasonable - good value for money.

Now this hotel is absolutely the Number 1 in Chiang Rai, everything is great, especially the breakfastbuffet.

All was perfect! The hotel is so nice! The lobby is really charming, we arrived at night and it looked magic, the light, the smell, the cold towels, the welcome drinks, the staff....We couldn't believe that high standard of quality and service. The rooms are so clean and spacious....Breakfast buffet is really incredible, the best i ever had, and i "have met" many before, hehehe. The cocktails at the bar were delicious, i can say they do the best mojitos i've ever tasted, and i know what i am saying.
Then came the pool; couldn't use it beginning our stay because the rain, but after that we were lucky, and had two almost perfect days. The pool is marvellous; almost beside the river, with a small private pier, wonderful sunbeds, wonderful attention from the staff, etc.....I know is very tiring say "wonderful" all the time, but that's what it is. Ah, the italian restaurant served a very tasty food. In one word, the hotel is IMPRESSIVE. I wish i could come back.

This was our first use of the...
This was our first use of the Meridien and we were able to find it without any trouble even though it is situated outside of the town. This luxurious hotel setting is fantastic sitting on a large area at the side of the Mok river. There were a minimum number of guests but all services were open and fully staffed. The breakfast was amazing with a fantastic range of foods from around the world. Our four day stay was made very comfortable with the staff, doing everything they could to be helpful without being intrusive. We just loved our time there and would recommend the hotel and its staff to everyone. We did have our own hire car and would recommend this to any traveller but the hotel did make arrangements for some fellow guests while we were there. Would also recommend a visit to the White temple just 14km south of Chiang Rai on the main round to the South. A big thank you to all the staff at the Meridien.

This was the best hotel I ever...
This was the best hotel I ever stayed in (and I have stayed at 5 star hotels...). The facility was just betuiful, the service was great but most awesome was the breakfast: it was just crazy; the variery and taste was unbelivable - not your regular buffet. They made from scratch many things; it was awesome! We had lunch at the hotel resturant. It was very pricey, but very good. If yu want to save you can get food outside, but I would eat there again despite the price.
If I ever get to Chiang Rai no question I would go there no matter what the price is!

The staff were incredibly attentive. The hotel's attention to detail was impeccable. The breakfast buffet was perfect.

Where do I start with this fabulous...
Where do I start with this fabulous place? We only got to spend 2 nights there and I felt tearful when we left. It is the ultimate in luxury:the infinity pool, sweeping lawns, decadent sumptuous breakfast. Service was ABSOLUTELY impecabble. 10/10 all the way. If you don't want to lift a figure and want to be treated like royalty, this is the place.
