Nice hotel a bit noisy
I stayed in Boat Lodge for 6 nights, during 4 of which I was more or less alone in the hotel. The hotel is nicely decorated in an original fashion which is in no way tacky, which can often be the case. My room was fairly basic, but comfortable and absolutely spotless. Breakfast was a bit limited in choice and because I was the only guest there one night, they did not bother to do a morning spread which was a bit cheeky ....
It is a small family run hotel and the staff went out of their way to help me and make me feel comfortable. Their English is very good.
The hotel is located 5 mins walk from a lovely beach where you can have lunch/dinner and horseride (ask for Den, he treats his horses really well unlike the other guy).
The hotel is located in Takieb which is approx 7 k, from the centre. You have to get a private taxi (200 bht) or shared taxi (10 bht) into town. I also took the taxi motorcycles when the shared taxis were no longer running (50 bht) - only for the brave ....
I loved Hua Hin and also really enjoyed boat lodge Except for the noise which was horrendous as soon as the place started filling up, and you had kids screaming in the pool as of 6h30 am. I would suggest that management ask their guests to respect silence before 9 pm, in which case I would definately return.
