We love almost everything about this hotel:...
We love almost everything about this hotel: beautiful rock garden, elegant furniture, charming and very spacious rooms. We were provided 2 connected rooms, which is a big peace of mind  when our young children are in a separate room. The room itself is a work of art, I also love the fresh flowers in the bedroom AND bathroom !  Riverview is fanstatic from our balcony.  Another plus is the Thai restaurant: we had most dinners there for 4 nights we stayed at the hotel: romantic atmosphere with candlelight and live music (from the lounge), food is good and price is very reasonable. Our kids also enjoy room-service meals. We also walked over the (River Kwai) bridge to reach the other side for shopping, catching a boat to the cave and catching the train to Namtok.  Some of cons are swimming pools are not maintained very well and internet service is extremely slow.  In shorts, we would love to come back to this hotel in the future. Keep up the good work ! BTW, thank you asiarooms.com ! Your service is great and we will definitely use it again for all coming trips in Asia!

We stayed in August 2005 for three nights and all I can say to anyone do not look further but book this wondeful hotel. Allthough we had at first a little trouble with the breakfast voucher for our daugher, for which we paid extra a triple room, the hotel management took care and solved the matter within the first hour after checkin. The room was spacious and also the bathroom was very large. Nice balcony over a lush garden. Staff were at all times very friendly and efficient. The pool is just gorgeous. Also very well located next to the famous bridge. We will definetely return here some day. Thanks Asiarooms for your well described hotel information.

We could not really fault the Felix Resort in Kanchanaburi. The service was excellent, gardens fabulous, river front rooms spacious and with fantastic views and the staff very friendly and helpful. They even took care of our 6 week old baby so that we could eat our breakfast together! Felix is also really well located as it's a stone's throw and pleasant walk from the famous bridge and several floating restaurants. All facilites were well maintained and rooms spotless. Highly recommended.

Felix Riverkwai resort deserves more credit and recognition because it is very under-utilized. I think it is definitely one of the best deal in Thailand because you can enjoy wonderful views (both  river and garden), great swimming pools, friendly staffs, good and affordabler restaurants within the resort, and still you can wander around the bridge, the city or further in the region... The place to relax from a busy lifestyle! long life to felix

This is a very nice "resort" that...
This is a very nice "resort" that seemed to be very under-utilised while I was there in mid-January 2005. The only interruption to the absolute peace and quiet was the occasional river boat zipping past. The resort does look a little dated in areas, but it is still a GREAT place to chill out away from it all. The staff are great, and seem to warm to you after a while. Unfortunately my last morning there was spoiled when, on returning to my room after a quick breakfast, I found the door "latched" from the inside, a "black" access card in the lighting slot (which I assume service staff have to access any room) and there was obviously "someone" in my room. This person heard me banging on the door and exited through the "balcony" door. There was no means of contacting reception without walking the 100 meters to the reception desk, an option which would have given the thief a simple escape... instead I stood my ground and waited him out, banging on the door etc. I then found a "maintanence" guy up on the roof who I got to open my door.... finding that my valuables had been disturbed but nothing taken, and finding the balcony door unlocked (he couldn't lock it on his way out)... I decided to take no further action, although quite certain the maintanence man was infact the culprit, it was going to be a)very hard to prove, and b) even harder to communicate what had happened, given the fact that nothing was stolen. I will add that the reason my valuables weren't locked in the room safe was because the room safe didn't work. So as you've been told over and over, DO NOT leave anything of value in your room, in ANY hotel, at any time. I have travelled all over Thailand for a number of years, and this is the first time anything like this has happened, I still shudder to think of the deep trouble I'd have been in (money, passport, credit cards all gone) if I'd lingered any longer at the breakfast table that morning.

This is the best located hotel for...
This is the best located hotel for visits to the Bridge on the River Kwai. If you are prepared to walk over the bridge then taxis to town and other sites are cheaper. If not then shuttles and taxis from the hotel may seem expensive. The hotel tours desk was non-existent whilst we were there. They could not even be contacted by phone from the hotel staff who tried their best. They ended up arranging a local tour guide for us who proved excellent. Name and phone number can be given if anyone is interested.
