A very comfortable stay in very pleasant surroundings. The rooms are widely spread and so there can be a bit of walk to your room. Once there they are lovely. They aren't like the big names (marriot etc) but for this part of Thailand they don't come any better. The restaurant (international and Thai) served good food at reasonable tourist prices. We had requested ground floor, as we were travellling with an elderly friend and a heavily pregnant woman. This was not provided and the climb to the third floor by stairs was a bit traumatic. The pool was nice, though deep in areas (6 foot) so watch out if you have little ones). All in all though a nice hotel, well appointed and clean.

This hotel is located within walking distance of the Bridge over the River Kwai however the opposite side to all the other attractions. The pool area is fantastic. The room was small but clean. Drinks and food in the hotel were expensive and it was quite a drive to go into the main town. Tours booked at the hotel are extremely expensive, we ventured into Kanchanaburi and booked our tours for a third of the price (and they pick you up from the hotel!)

Superbly located on the "quiet" side of the River Kwai, within walking distance of the bridge. We chose a river-facing room which only got a bit noisy when some of the rowdier restaurant boats went past - not a major drama as they didn't seem to run too late into the night. We were there for just two days, which was a shame as we only managed to use a limited number of the facilities, but the pool was great and the reception staff were helpful and knowledgeable of the area. Breakfast was a good mix of Asian and Western, pool service was very prompt. Overall highly recommended.

The facilities were very good and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The location to the bridge is fantastic and it is very romantic. It is a long way out of town and you need to get a taxi. If you are looking for a quiet couple of days to chill out and relax by the pool this is the place. The food was slightly dissapointing and did not reflect the 5 star standard. The hotel and grounds are stunning and you would nt regret staying here.

We (including my mother and father) stayed...
We (including my mother and father) stayed here for 3 nights in two adjacent garden view rooms and were impressed with the room and resort. At the price of 1500 Baht per room per night, I would definitely stay here again. The rooms were large, clean and well furnished, with all the standard amenities of a 3 or 4 star hotel. There are outdoor deck chairs overlooking a pond, but we didn't use them. The resort is located about 10 minute walk from the bridge over River Kwai. There are shuttle busses from the hotel (at a cost) to town, but easy to walk to the bridge, where on the other side of the river are restaurants, toursit shops and public transport/taxis. We always walked, even walked back at night time. The resort itself is very pleasant, containing many walkways and rivers/ponds between buildings. And right on the river (some rooms overlook the river). The pool was a highlight. It was large and had swim-up bar, basketball rings (on the edge of the pool) and waterfall features. We made an effort to get back from touring by 3pm or 4pm to get in the pool for a couple of hours. And there was a second 25 metre lap pool. There are other facilities (tennis, snooker, pub, karaoke, darts, bicycles) but all at a reasonable cost (for Thailand). It didn't look like many people were using them - it would be a better atmosphere if these were free, or very cheap (20-30 Baht). We ate at both restaurants at the resort. The brasserie was slightly better (food, service, price), but the Chinese was still ok (although quite slow on the service). There are several restaurants on the other side of the river which are just as good (well at least the one we tried was), but cheaper. Overall, I was impressed with the resort, and at the price, would stay there again.

We spent 2 nights in June 2007 in a riverfront suite. My wife and 16-year old son loved it. Two-story, hardwood floor, and excellent cable television for a 16-year old. Foods were well-prepared and service was good. The resort is big and close to the railway (good 10 minutes walk to the railway station). We got a really good deal on the suite. We will stay here again.

The only negative impression we got was...
The only negative impression we got was when we called the hotel upon our arrival at the train station. Since there were no taxi around, we asked them to pick us up since we had two bags and a 3 years old child with us. They replied they had no car available (???). The hotel is only about 500-700 m from the station if we cross the river through the River Kwai bridge. We then asked "what shall we do" and they told us "contact the tourist police". So we had to carry ourselves and the luggage under the heat the all way to the hotel. When we arrived we could see that they had a few motorcycles with a side car for the luggages which they use to go around the hotel property. They could have offered us to wait for us just after the bridge crossing and at least pick up our luggage with that side car MC but they didn't. So we arrived swimming in sweat and exhausted. This lack of service-minded was an extremely bad start which spoiled our 3 nights stay. An other feature: we were two adults and one child but still the room maid only put one single mini soap every day. The quality of the soap and shampoo was very poor and made dry our skins and hair. We ordered room service on 2 occasions and each time we were amazed by small amount of the main ingredient; e.g. for our duck in red curry got only 3 very very thin slices of duck mixed with a lot of vegetables to give an impression of abundance. This last feature and the soap story plus their refusal to help us from the train station seems to reflect a certain stinginess from the side of the management. Pity because the hotel is fantastic in all other respects.
