Large resort type complex which has seen...
Large resort type complex which has seen better days... externally it is beautifully presented, the gardens, the pool, the location next to the river and the close proximity to the bridge... The staff were also non plus, not unfirendly just not very involving, so slightly dissapointing, but very, very nice gardens and riverside location...

The resort is well located within a...
The resort is well located within a 5-10 minute walk to the bridge although only for the brave wishing to walk over the bridge to the town. The room rates are very good value but the room mini bar, food, bars and transfer costs are a little expensive. This seems to be a general theme we found at the 3 resorts we stayed at across Thailand. You will get better value by going out of the resort which cost around a third of the price. This is the perfect location for those wishing to go to the Tiger temple which is highly recommended and a true once in a life time experience. Mosquito spays and plugins are a must as you will get mosquitos around the area and in the room. We didn't have any mosquito nets in the room which would have been a plus. If you are going to this area I would say this is a perfect resort with a pleasant charm and close to the sights.

The best we have ever stayed in...
The best we have ever stayed in Thailand. Best value for money. Breakfast is very good. Big rooms with 2 swimmingpools. Good and cheap restaurants on the other side of the bridge. You can walk over the bridge but becarefull. Bring a light with you. Restaurant in hotel is also good. Marianne.

Beautiful hotel, set in amazing landscaped gardens...
Beautiful hotel, set in amazing landscaped gardens on the edge of the river Kwai. The service was very friendly and the food out of this world. The hotel is in a quiet location on the outskirts of Kanchanaburi. The bridge over the river Kwai is a short walking distance from the hotel. The gym is good on Thai standards which overlooks the river. I highly recommend this hotel and would have no reservation in staying there again.

We took a riverview suite which was absolutely fabulous. The only thing which wasn't so good was the staircase in our room which was really narrow and steep. Very friendly staff and personnel. Very much value for the money! Highly recommendable!

The Felix Riverkwai Resort Hotel Kanchanaburi is a most pleasant hotel. It is clean, has a wonderful garden, swimming pool and great breakfast buffet. The price to service ratio could not be better. The only suggestion we have that the hotel arranges for regular transportation to town as it is not safe to walk there in the dark with several stray dogs who scare people away.

This is an absolutely stunning hotel and I wouldn't have been dissapointed if we'd paid twice the price. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, its right by the beautiful river and spitting distance from the bridge. A perfect 4/5 day retreat from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok.

We enjoyed our stay at the Felix...
We enjoyed our stay at the Felix and would certainly recommend it. The resort was ideally located for viewing and actually walking over the famous River Kwai Bridge. We stayed for 3 nights and ate at the resort each night; there was enough variety of dishes in the international restaurant to keep us going back for more. As suggested by a previous review, we caught the first class bus to Kanchanaburi which took 2 hours with free water; however don't make the same mistake we did on the return and catch the identical looking second class bus that takes 3.5 hours with no water...
