A wonderful resort set in beautiful gardens alongside the Kwai Noi River. You could spend all your time there just taking in the ambiance of the surroundings. The Chalet was comfortable and we loved the garden shower. What disappointed us was the standard of food, breakfast one morning consisted of half a sausage half a slice of pressed ham an egg and a slice of toast, even though Orange juice was on the menu it was not available. Most disappointing was the staff's attitude they just did not care and where unfriendly.
It was our second stay at Pung wan resort and we've enjoyed it just as much. Our friends were delighted too.The only negative thing is you really need a means of transport as it's far from Kanchanaburi and even quite far ( 3 or 4 kms)from Nam Tok , the nearest village. On the other hand, the location itself is great and the swimming pool is excellent.

the hotel was good and the setting was perfect. the staff were helpful and even though several did not speak English the were always helpful and smiling. They always found some one who could understand what our request was.
When we arrived there were 4 other people with us who had not made a booking. They looked at the foyer and decided not to stay. The entrance is not very good...very dark and not welcoming. The rest of the hotel grounds are wonderful so I feel that if they lifted the look of the front foyer it would be of value to their clientel.
The grounds are 5 star and the pool area is great. The rooms are a bit tired but very clean and comfortable. We will be taking our grandchildren to visit next year as it is very well set up for children
Pretty good place overall. Restaurant and bar were expensive and there are no other places nearby. Food in restaurant was average, but the buffets were very good.
A little isolated, but perfect if that is what you want. Great view of the river. Nice and quiet. TV waste of time. Staff very nice and friendly. Super big pool and huge grounds, great for banquet and sports activities.
We were surprised by the location, about 60 km from kanchanaburi. If you want to visit waterfalls it's a good place to stay. However, the resort is huge and there's a lot of groups (very noisy....)so if you look for a cool place to stay, I'll not recommend this place. Too big, facilities are too far away one from each other and not a lot of services. Finally, they are so busy with the groups that individuals are not very considered.
The setting here are perfect if you want to relax and donot want to go into town everyday as that can workout quite pricey but relax is perfect in the middle of nowhere right on the riverbank, with a great pool and well kept grounds, on top of that all the staff are very friendly and do thier best to please.
