Not a bad place at all the only major drawback (aside from the food is OK not good but adequate)is that a return boat trip is 700 Baht (not each person 4 of us went)one is essentially confined to the floating raft as it is only accessible by boat hence the meals are taken in the price (it appears there is a road access but it is hazardous and 4WD vehicle would be required the small Mon community village there have a couple of vehicles so proof it is accessible but don't try it as a tourist! If you want to explore the area around then try another more accessible hotel or you'll end up paying out alot in boat trips back and forth to your vehicle in the car park on the pier. They do offer trips themselves but are a little expensive in light that you may already have hired a car to get there.
Well worth looking around the Mon community there can spend a few hours doing that no pressure at all to buy things etc and it seems pretty genuine as they really exist unlike the Chiang Mai Hill Tribe Villages which are rather manufactured.
In summary good for 2 days visit that's about all if you want to be more active and visit around (Tip Erewan Waterfall is very well worth it even though foreign tourists have 400 Baht entry to the National Park compared to the 40 Baht for the Thais even the Thais seem to think we tourists are getting a raw deal on that front all National Park admissions have shot up to 400 Baht!)My wife is Thai and I've been to Thailand 10 times in 7 years so I know quite a bit about the country and have been lucky enough to have gone there before recent price hikes (seemed to have gone up in the last couple of years) which I believe are a result of capitalising on tourism and prices in general are likely to increase again in the next 5 or so years. Tough on the Thais on the rather poor Thai wages (labourer 200 Baht or so a day 500 a day is quite good bear that in mind before chucking too much money around and more importantly getting taken advantage of which can happen).
In summary worth a visit to the raft(some reviews have been a little unfair but each looks for different things in a holiday visit) but there are similar more accessible ones further up the River Kwai Noi for those wanting to spend a week or so in the area exploring.
That's it if you go try not to miss Erewan and the Mon Community both well worth visiting:)
