Great weekend escape

We had a great weekend, the resort was beautiful and the room was lovely and situated in a quiet stretch of beach on the west side of the island. However, the food and drinks were average, but there were other places along the beach to try, other resorts and local restaurants. We ended up eating out both nights and having some of the best food I've had in Thailand just a short stroll from the resort in a very local, casual restaurant! The spa wasn't that amazing either, even considering the 50% discount it only just made it worthwhile. Despite the above all we wanted to do was lie by the pool and read, sleep and do nothing - so it was well worth it for that and there were many other places close by to try for food and massages, so I think it was still worthwhile as long as you're prepared to go out and explore a little way along the beach, and you get a good deal on asiarooms.com!

be careful

My stay at the resort started off bad. My booking for a superior double was not what i booked. The resort tried to put me in a room with two single beds. Then when i explain what i had payed for they wanted to slide two beds together. Then for me to get the room that i had booked i had to pay another 500 bht. The hotel was very nice but anything to do with or booked through the hotel was very expensive.

Tropicana Holiday Review

Had a Fantastic holiday!! Stayed for 7 nights from 30th Oct. with my (UK)husband and (Thai)teenage son. We had adjoining superior rooms on the upper floor of their new two floor bungalows surrounding the new pool complex, set in lush tropical gardens. The fully appointed rooms with balcony were very spaceous, and everything worked perfectly. Nicely decorated in traditional Thai style and thoroughly cleaned every day. All staff were very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast (quality and quantity) was good, varied and always enough provided for everyone. Dinner menu was very comprehensive and well prepared and presented--we ate there 3 times. The gardens are a delight and the beach is beautiful---truly paradise. More than enough sun loungers for everyone to choose either shade or sun.
Beach bar was OK, and happy hours through lunch time and evenings make the prices reasonable. A note of caution: Many hotels advertise themselves as resort and 'spa', with 'spa' being no more than massage tables. Pleasingly the Tropicana will have a fully functioning spa complex from December.
We had a wonderful, relaxing holiday thanks mainly to the Tropicana and their wonderful staff.

This is hotel is situated in a...

This is hotel is situated in a very quiet area of Koh Chang with glorious white sandy beaches. The room was a good size and kept meticulously clean during our stay. Nearly all the rooms are set in tropical gardens . The staff were extremely polite and ready to help you with any problem. The beach side pool area offers you spectacular sunsets and a beach bar and restaurant. I will definitely come back to Tropicana Resort Spa the next time I visit Koh Chang.
