Idyllic location but limited beach
Located at the bottom of a steep hill - the taxi did not take us to reception so it was interesting taking the luggage down the steep incline! The site is beautiful and staff very friendly and helpful with good English skills. Nice adequately equipped room. Lovely pool if slightly small and in high season there could be inadequate numbers of sun loungers. Massage available next to pool. Good choice of breakfast food and good quality. Very reasonable food prices and range of snacks/meals although we did not dine at the property. There are some restaurants/bars a short walk away up on the main road, one plays live music which can be heard at the Bailan Beach - so if you want an early night - take ear plugs! There is a small private beach but the main issue is that the tide goes out a long way leaving a rocky/muddy expanse. Swimming is fine when the tide is in however. Close to Bang Bao port for fantastic snorkelling trips. A long taxi ride to main resort and ferry port (30mins approx). Stay - January 2012.
