Time at Tropical Beach
My reasons for choosing the resort were value for money and the claim to be 'far from the madding crowd' and indeed both were true. The resort lacked sparkle and effort but covered all basic needs apart from no mattresses for any of the 6 sun loungers. Some staff were friendly and did what they could with what they had and for some it all seemed like too much hard work . The hotel is well off the beaten track and taxis and minibuses profit from this charging relatively high prices for the short distance by dirt track. Scooters are available and recommended, if you are a confident dirt track rider !! The immediate beach at the hotel is rocky and very 'natural' but a short walk up the sand leads to a few nice bars that are much further by road. Bungalows were a good design stone roundhouses with thatched roofs but very noisy at night with rain and jungle life ! I nick named my place a jungalow after finding that I had to share it with a family of giant geckos. Bring your mosquito deterrents and a torch, candles and matches as power cuts occur almost nightly and paths to the restaurant are poorly lit and very leafy !!. Air con and shower were good. The staff were very quick to send a man with a gun to remove the snake I found in my bathroom! I had ten nights and would go again as I found the peace and serenity I was looking for at the price I could afford as a lone traveller.

Very nice place. a bit far from crowd. comfortable and very freind place. we see the same group staffs evryday as freinds. very natural design bungalow. we very enjoy. If you like the quiet place . prefect for you. the way a bit far not suitable the person like night life. road to hotel not in good condition and not easy to travel.
Remind you. beakfast only show congee and bread. simple thing , but you can order egg and meat on side free of charge.
I been there in Thailand long Holiday, 50% customer were Thia. But they show different. quiet and young, no pet carry. quiet. and some farang stay there long as a week or more. and they love the place.
Surely I will recomment this place for my freind and some couple for budget honey moon.
If swim pool here will be 100% perfect.

Nice friendly staff. New, functional and minimalist rooms. The advertised DVD player in the room wasn't there. The cleaners barely touched the room each day, let alone changed the sheets. This is a nice place to get away from busy restaurants and bars on the main road in Koh Chang, and relax and go to bed early. Be warned, it is right at the end of the road and a taxi there will be expensive, even from Bao Bang.
Beautiful place to stay
We stayed here 3 nights at March, 2011. We enjoyed silence, magnificent views of beach. Personal view of the hotel was very friendly and attentive. Bungalows are new, big size, comfortable and clean. It looks as it does on the pictures.
There are some negatives: there are stones at sea and has not deep water on the sea. The breakfast is not different and very modest (toasts, butter, jam, coffee and tea, flakes and fresh fruits). But the bungalows very good and service is excellent. The hotel about 25 minutes walk from nearest Bang Bao village. I would strongly recommend this place to my friends.
