The hotel is absolutely beutiful especially the view from the pool. The staff is sweet and helpful. We had a great time! You might wanna take in consideration that the hotel is isolated from other places and if you want to eat in you need to pay a lot more. (very pricy compare to Thai prices). The food was excellent though.

What a beautiful, amazing place! The resort is perched amongst the rainforest from the beach to the peak of a hill, with stunning views across the water. The beach is divine and the pools are surrounded by lovely landscaping. All staff were friendly and receptive and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Pimalai is only a short stroll into town, where motorbikes can be hired for a whiz around the island. A perfect place for our honeymoon!

My husband and I visited Koh Lanta...
My husband and I visited Koh Lanta late October 07 and stayed in the Pimilai in our last week there. It was something to look forward to... and was well worth the wait! We had a very warm welcome by all the super friendly resort staff. It was raining heavily when we got there and every effort was made to get us to our room dry - so we hopped onto our little golf car and our lovely spacious room was awaiting our arrival. Our room didn't have a sea view but the gardens and resort are so lovely and you can hear the waves rolling so it was perfectly relaxing to sit on the lovely balcony. The room was comfortable and clean and the decor was up to date. The bathroom was spacious - the shower was the best bit - powerful to wash all the sand away after a day lazing on the beach. The breakfast was super. The spread was lovely and we thouroughly enjoyed the lovely fruit on offer. Juices or as it comes. There was so much choice you could have something each morning. The pool area was lovely - the service even here was great. There was always someone around to get an ice cold watermelon juice - highly recommended as a refreshing drink!!! Down at the beach there are also loungers and an array of sporting equipment on offer... sadly the tide was high and the sea was rather rough so my other half didn't get to use windsails... he did however go boogy-boarding. We only had dinner down at the beach restaurant as we prefer the beachy Thai feel. We didn't venture up to the top restaurant which is said to be amazing... the restaurants are expensive in comparison to what's on offer at other restaurants outside of the resort. We ate at Same Same But Different which was great - the vibe is just right and the food was good. We also ventured up to the Shroom Bar - recommended if you enjoy the whole chilled out feeling of Thailand. I thought it was great - the food was lovely and the cocktails too. There were little monkeys up there which was entertaining. So now for the Pimilai Spa - it IS expensive but if you stay at the Pimilai treat yourself to a package ie. jacuzzi, warm body wrap and then a massage... it was delicious! the spa is beautiful and the treatments are luxurious. We also walked down the beach and had massages which were more than half the price and good but of course you don't get the WHOLE experience - that's if you like a bit of luxury like myself. So in a nutshell - I could go on for pages... the thing that makes the Pimilai special and worth the extra Baht is the attention to detail and the staff. They are so friendly and helpful - never did we walk past someone in the resort without a friendly hello. When we had to sadly return home we booked a transfer through the hotel - the journey was so smooth and so amazingly well co-ordinated. We even had a resort rep check us into our not so comfortable economy seats... after a week at the Pimilai you feel like you need to fly home first class!!!

What a beautiful resort. I stayed here with my daughter for a week in March 2005, and loved every single thing about it. The decor is fantastic, a tropical paradise with a genuine Thai feel; the beach is pristine, and quiet, as is the pool area. The food is varied and of an exceptional standard; and the service is excellent, whilst remaining personal and friendly. This is an ideal spot for couples, as the setting is very romantic, and is very quiet- so make sure you bring a few good books!

Stayed a week in August 05. A fabulous resort with great stylish rooms and bathrooms. set in a wonderful oriental cultivated jungle garden setting on the gentle hillside of the bay. Very relaxing by the infinity edge pool or enjoying the spa. Reasonable prices for such quality. Not many restaurants or bars locally - but Same Same But Different next to hotel is friendly, atmospheric and cheap.
